Appin House Weddings and Events

My partner and I had our Wedding at Appin House on 22/04/2023.Where to begin? From our very first consultation with Trish, she was so helpful. The packages they provide are so affordable and have so many great options.It is very hard to find a venue in Sydney that allow you to have your ceremony and reception in the one place so this was great for us especially since we had so many family travelling from interstate.Our package include our flowers and bouquets and button holes, our wedding cake, the DJ/MC and dinner and drinks. This meant we didn't have to worry about looking for a whole lot of other vendors for our day.Our day/night couldn't have been more perfect.A massive thanks to Trish and her amazing team.

I’ve seen a number of reviews stating they had a stress free experience having their wedding at Appin House and I wish I could say the same.We had a beautiful wedding day in the end, but in the lead up it felt like their care factor went out the window as soon as we had booked and paid our deposit.Patricia was great at answering questions promptly but not good at proactive communication. I.e. waiting for us to ask questions rather than telling us what information is useful for us to know.If you book a package, a number of inclusions such as DJ, flowers and the cake are done by external vendors and you need to contact each vendor yourself to confirm with them. You aren’t booked in after your initial consult and that wasn’t made explicitly clear. Appin house does not contact them to confirm the booking or let them know you’ve booked a package. Additionally, the package inclusions are for the basics and there may be additional charges for extras e.g. we had to pay an additional cost for flowers at the bridal table and the cake design we wanted.Patricia suggested having a consult 2 months out from the wedding and then 2 weeks out. These aren’t automatically booked in and we weren’t informed of them until I asked about it.At the final consult we had to go over the package and extras that we had booked all over again and the costs that we had booked at, as there were price increases after we booked but we had locked in the lower price. We also had to confirm the payments we made, the amounts they were for and the dates so make sure you keep a record of this information and have it available at your final consult.Additionally, we paid a $600 deposit and assumed this would be deducted from the cost of our wedding but it’s not, it’s refunded 2 weeks after your wedding. This was not communicated to us until our final consult.We had a large wedding, and originally estimated we would have almost 200 guests and were advised the capacity was 200. We ended up having 164 on 8 regular tables plus the bridal table. When we arrived for the final consult, Patricia thought we still had 9 tables and said “yeah it’d be good if you could cut it down to 8”.. we had so it wasn’t an issue but if we hadn’t, 2 weeks out from the wedding is way too late to change our guest list. So keep in mind, the actual capacity is more like 160 not 200.In regards to checking in to the cottage, we were just told the keys would be in the cottage and not given any information on *where* the keys were located. After going on a treasure hunt to find them, we found them in the 3rd drawer of the kitchen. The keys were in a big bag of assorted keys and not clearly labeled which keys were the door keys so we had to spend 20 minutes trying every key to find the correct key. For anyone staying there in future, we put the key to the bottom lock on the Mercedes lanyard to make it easier to find. We never found a key for the top lock.We had a number of children in attendance and at our final consult we had confirmed the number verbally and provided Patricia with a seating chart that a. had the children colour coded and b. Also had the total number of children on it. Nonetheless on the wedding day someone from the venue came to the cottage to ask how many children we had and if they’d all be eating. That person then proceeded to tell me that they would be getting the chips for the children’s meals from the takeaway shop. I assumed the children’s meals would be something like chips and nuggets but over $60 per head for nuggets and chips not even cooked fresh on site is ridiculous.We had some other issues not included due to the character limit. These things are minor but our experience would have been a lot more positive if they were different. Appin house is great value for money with their package inclusions but these are things I feel future couples should consider when booking.

We had our wedding and reception there on July 6th 2019 and we couldn't be happier with the day. From the very first consultation with Patricia we felt nothing but happy about our choice to have our wedding there. She made the process as stress free as possible and the day ran very smoothly. There attention to detail was perfect. The food was amazing and tasted great. We had several comments from out guests about how lovely it was too.The team there are super friendly and always went above and beyond for us, nothing was too hard and they made it happen. If you are thinking of having your wedding there I would highly recommend it. You certainly won't be dissapointed.Thank you again Appin House for all the hard work you put into our wedding. We will remember it for many years to come

Had our wedding here over the weekend and can't simply believe how wonderful the venue and service has been. Trish's staff was very polite and professional and prompt to help and address any issues we had. They helped provided the best DJ/MC who we already highly praised on their review. They also have a very skilled florist and cake artist affiliated with them who also provided top quality service towards us. Thanks again Trish and team, it was a wonderful day and evening!

A really nice place for a wedding! The ceremony and reception areas are close to each other, and there’s plenty of places for great photos.

Appin house was the perfect venue for our wedding. Everyone complimented the beautiful gardens, the lovely staff, the food and everything the place had to offer. Patricia was great to work with and ensured everything went to smooth. Loves every minute of getting married there!

This place is awesome, well organised and heaps of cool photo locations. Great tasty food too, all in all a great self contained venue.
