We never fail to visit Carolyn and Mal Starkey's seafood house when we spend time on the beautiful Stradbroke Island. Their spanner crabs are to die for, simple and fresh, delicious with a home made mayonnaise or with some avocado. They know the local prawn trawlers very well and select prawns that are just perfect - not too salty. We often buy spanish mackerel as well, Moreton Bay bugs or oysters. In all the years we've visited their shop we've never been disappointed by the quality of their products or customer service.

There is only one place to buy fresh local seafood on Staddie and that's Mal Starkey's seafood house! We have always found prompt and friendly service -- and the food is the best!

Grumpy, sour faced pair of owners that clearly don't understand the concept of good customer service and return business. They couldnt have been more disappointed to see us walk in the door 5 mins before closing time and spend our money. We'll shop elsewhere next time.

Just got back from a family trip to Straddie were we lived off the amazing fresh seafood at the Seafood house. Our daily trip in to see Carolyn and pick dinner felt like we were visiting family. Wee you guys at Christmas.

I love Mal and Carolyn - always big hellos and smiles - even if they been before sunrise! Also such yummy fresh seafood! We are always a big fan of the Spanner crabs - often caught by Mal the day before!
