Khao Yum Thai
I drove 20 minutes to this Thai because I love their green curry. First I checked opening hours in google. Oh it’s open until 10pm, let’s go. To my surprise I arrived and they’re on lunch break. Doesn’t matter it’s just 15 minutes until they come back from lunch break. 15 minutes later still closed. Man, so disappointed. Do not waste people’s time. Won’t come back.

Visited on a Wednesday at lunch. Service was good. I ordered Tom Yum noodle soup. I loved the thin rice noodles, the soup was good and it had lots of meat and vegetables.

We've been eating here for years and always loved their food -especially the duck spring rolls. But lately there have been issues with inconsistency. 8 times out of 10 the food is still amazing, but occasionally (especially if the owner isn't there) we're disappointed by what had become our favourite dishes.Our recent experience involved placing (and paying for) an order online and then showing up only to find the 'break time 3:30 to 5 pm' sign out front, well past 5 pm. No answer on the phone. Finally at around 5:45 the owner called to say the food would be 10 minutes (which is what they always say and is always a lie). We had our food at about 6:15 and while most dishes were good the duck spring rolls were lacking their usual spices and veggies that make them outstanding. Disappointed again.

Very good food. Great service/staff. Can get a little busy during peak lunch time but still worth it. Had Lunch here many a times, consistently good.

Chicken salad was tasty, however they charged $5 for a small brown rice which I watched them pull a $2 sachet of microwave rice out of the microwave and put some in a small container. I expect a takeaway place to at least have fresh steamed rice man.

This is a solid option if you're looking for a fast and affordable meal in Redfern. Perhaps not a destination restaurant, but the food is fresh and tasty, the prices are good, and the serving sizes are generous

What a great little find! Authentic dishes, timely and pleasant service and moderate prices. Very friendly staff. One of the best massaman curries I've had in Sydney! The chicken larb was also fantastic, nice and spicy (I asked for the hot" option). Try the Thai milk tea

Excellent Food Well Priced. My favourite is the Cashew Chicken Stir Fry, they'll even do off menu stuff if you ask - i.e. replace rice with vegetables for low carb meal.

Had the whole barrumundi and the crispy pork. The pork was decent but the highlight was easily the fish, which was incredibly fresh and the black bean sauce goes very well with rice. You can choose from a selection of styles and sauces for the fish. Restaurant is located just opposite redfern station and beside spar supermarket which is a nice plus.

Just what I needed after a long, intense, unpredictable day at work. Thai food classic - in every way. Consistent! Flavourful! Great atmosphere with inviting booths, copper hanging lights and wood wall decor. Full, busy restaurant at 10pm - bustling city buzz - just what I needed. I needed somebody to feed me. I needed a big glass of wine in a proper wine glass! As a local, Khao Yum - yum!
