Council website quote regarding CFL lamp (light bulb) or tube disposal ' People who would like to use a more environmentally friendly method of disposal can drop the lamps at one of council’s following resource and recovery centres including Beerwah RRC... There is a $1 charge per lamp or fluorescent tube for domestic customers'Collected up about 10 of these over a few years because I had heard they were unsuitable for general waste due to the mercy content, only to be told they only take the long tubes, it also says the cost is $1 per bulb (had they taken them) which is quite pricey. They are now in my general waste bin.Council website says they take clothes and clean rags. Nothing about the clothing being suitable for charity / resale. I had already seperated clothing that was still good and donated to charity, I had remaining stained / ripped clothing and old sheet sets etc. The clothing couldn't be disposed of because they only wanted them in good condition, the sheets were not considered rags (don't really know what is). I will now need to make another trip for textile recycling, which I will do, but wouldn't it make sense to have it all centrally located at a Resource Recovery Centre, or to atleast be clearer about what is and isn't there. As Kermit says it ain't easy being Green.

Have been here previously, usually 12 bucks for a full tray load in my triton. Have brought couches and other things and have always been charged 12 dollars at the maximum. Today I left my titan drawers in the back and notified them and brought in two medium sized boxes of rubbish and a rolled up folded carpet approx 3x6m, significanly less in size and weight than any of my previous loads. Told the old biddy about my drawers and she said we'll only charge you for a medium load, $33 later I ask why I have been charged so much and I get this speak it's done by weight (no weight upon entry and exit) and that it's to do with servicing the landfill the next 30 years, and that it also goes on size which is two wheelie bins full. You could have easily fit the two boxes and carpet in two wheelie bins if broken down. I wouldn't be such a Karen about it, but we get tiny bins for weekly collection and it completely contradicts what their terms are online and multiple previous visits. More than 20 bucks more for a half tub load. I've never seen these two before so unless I was being wrongly charged before I will definitely not be coming back.

Prices have risen lately, not as many bargains now, they should review their pricing compared to other recycle centres.Considering most items are received as throwaway, no need to stack on extra pricing that affect genuine buyers in need of cheaper items they can afford.

Why aren't the public allowed to buy the ride on lawn mowers from the recycling centre at beerwah? You can buy them from every other recycling place on the coast!
