Flippers Swim School

Called them like 100 times, left messages and couldn’t get through and never received call back. Terrible management

My son has been swimming here for over 6 years. Great centre and reasonably priced. As an ex swimming teacher, after looking at many swim schools in the area, this was the best one. I don’t fall for the best goer franchises “floaties help their posture” (for an 8yo) and “kids need to get their goggle licence” (I agree kids should be able to swim without goggles, but they certainly don’t need to wear no goggles every lesson for a few years, especially if it burns their eyes!) Flippers teaches the way I learned as a child. Teachers are passionate and supported. We love Flippers!

One instructor was great, her replacement when she was on leave was awful. So nasty that she destroyed all of the work we had put into getting our daughter into the water. Yelled unnecessarily, shoved her in the water, ignored her for the other kids and caused a fear of water that we are still battling.

We were utterly disgusted with this place and for good reason. Choosing to try them for the first time we explained that after COVID our kids were probably back to being at a beginner level. Assured by the owner they would be well looked after during their transition back they got my older daughter into the pool in a lane where unbeknownst to me had a deep end. The instructor gave her a board along with 3 other kids and got them paddling. My eldest who is back to absolute beginner stage tried to take a break and found she couldn’t touch the bottom and lost her board. The instructor with her back turned away had no idea about my daughters gasps for air. Mind you…we had two kids in the pool and once taking our eye off our other daughter we realised what was happening. It took MY husband to jump in and grab her. By this stage she has been gasping for up to 15 seconds trying to get help and all staff were completely oblivious! What made matters worse was the owner instead of profusely apologizing and accepting it’s totally unacceptable…all he cared about was losing our business and whinged about how hard life has been during lockdowns and begged us not to leave! What a joke!!!! My daughter was distraught and he couldn’t have cared less! We will never set foot into this place again!

This is the best swimming school in the west! The staff and instructors are great!

My boys have been swimming here for years, Andrew and the team are great. Their instructor Aiden knows how to get the best out of them. I would highly recommend this swim school to anyone!
