BUYER BEWARE.SUBSTANDARD SERVICE & APPAULING CUSTOMER SERVICEI have been using Silver Service Marine for 10 years now and the last service I received left a lot to be desired. At the start when the business was kicking off they were great. Went the extra mile and was reasonably priced and carried out a good service. I could not speak more highly of them until now. I was just about to purchase a brand new 250hp off them and have bought a new 20hp off them in the past but I will never use them again after my last experience.It has definitely gone downhill and in a big way. I just had three motors serviced through them (225hp, 20hp & 5hp) so you could say I am a good customer and one to look after and listen to my concerns. Took two months to book in and the cost of the service was over the top for a 225hp Honda at $1,218.64. I have since asked around several dealers and no one gets close to this cost. I questioned why the parts were charged out at 50% more than retail and the response I got is that is what Honda recommends. Well sorry but every other dealer I have spoken to doesn't charge this. I can get the plugs from repco for 2/3rds the price for eg.Last weekend I took the boat out for the second time after the service over to Moreton. On this occasion as it was an overnighter I switched the isolator to the second battery only for the night. During the night we got up and I started the motor to find it was very sluggish to turn over. I thought this is weird as the batteries are only two years old and are always on charge. When I got home I checked the battery connections and they were extremely loose. I then checked my receipt from the service to find that this was part of the service Check Battery Connection". This was obviously not carried out but charged for. I am actually shocked that something as simple as this was not checked.I emailed Silver service marine 3 times in an attempt to see why this wasn't carried out and the response was "this is outside our goodwill". Goodwill has nothing to do with it. Only half the service was carried out. This was the same for the "Gear and throttle operation" It is very stiff and this obviously has not been carried out either however was also charged for. Further in the reply "Its obvious you need to find someone else who has more expertise than we can supply". Well Silver Service Marine if you can't check and tighten a battery terminal as that is "outside your expertise" what is the rest of the service like?This could endanger my kids life and mine as we do extended trips up to 130klm offshore and hence why we get the services carried out and expect them to be carried out correctly so we know the boat will start and go into gear and accelerate.Once they have your money they don't care. Their services are substandard to say the least. They don't quote and just charge what every they want. Be very careful if you choose to use them. Over priced

The Guys are supper knowledgeable and nothing is a problem to them. Their efficient and do the job right each and every time. best part is they come to you, and no having to tow boat around town.

Brandon always goes above and beyond to get us back on the water as quick as possible. Impeccable service, highly recommended.

Bought Service oils and filters from these guys. They always have stock and very helpful. Had to do a Warranty claim with Honda. These guys made it happen all in the one visit. And I walked out with the new items. They went the extra mile..Good family business.....

Great mechanics and they have a thorough knowledge of boats. Silver Service Marine put a new engine on my boat and fitted out a Garmin package and other electronics approximately 7 years ago. I have been taking my boat back to them for servicing since and they haven’t let me down once. Highly recommend.
