Eynesbury Grey Box Forest
One of the largest stands of Grey Box forest remaining in Victoria. This significance has lead to it being listed with the National Estate and it is included within the Melton Shire Natural Heritage Overlay. It provides refuge to a number of threatened bird species. A number of walking trails can be walked here for nature appreciation or to view the historical remains of the original homestead.

Eynesbury Grey Box Forest
Effectively an extension of the Eynsbury grey box forest which lies to the east of the Werribee river below Mt. Cottrell. We observed close to 50 species of birds in a few hours and saw the empty nests of Wedge-tailed eagle and White-bellied sea-eagle as well as a variety of flora and fauna. Burial sites of some of the Pinkerton family are located to the north. The property is owned by Western Water and a small dedicated team of Land care volunteers maintain the the environment. It was a privilege to visit.

Lots of birdlife. Not sure where we were supposed to park, just kind of parked on the side of the road/near the footpath entrance. Enough space for 2 or 3 cars.Approach puddles slowly and you may find animals drinking.
