Wallan Medical & Specialist Centre

I was wanting to switch to this clinic, as my doctor from my current clinic in Wallan had left to go overseas, and I had had a couple of minor issues with the doctor I had been seeing there following his departure. I made an appointment with the female doctor I had seen a couple of times at Wallan Medical & Specialist, to organise to switch my medical records over, as she had seemed good. She told me today that she had heard that my original doctor from the other clinic was excellent. She then commenced trying to actively dissuade me from moving across to Wallan Medical & Specialist, saying that she knew nothing about my medical history. Which was nonsense, as she was well aware I had had mental health issues, primarily in the 1980’s, and still, saw (very infrequently) a psychiatrist. It was obvious to me that that was the root of her protests. Since the 1980’s, I have completed two Graduate Diplomas (with honours) from Melbourne University, and I have continuously been in full-time employment all my adult life (apart, obviously, from my time spent studying). I am due to retire next year. I am certain that it was on the basis of my mental health history that she was so incredibly reluctant to take me on as a patient. In spite of the fact that I have been stable for decades! Might I suggest, that the reason my original doctor from the other clinic received such glowing reviews from his patients, was that he was genuinely caring and compassionate. The doctor I saw today, on the other hand, appears to be motivated primarily by self-interest. Not sure why she chose medicine as a profession. I will be cancelling my request to switch clinics.

I’m a new patient to this clinic and my experiences so far have been excellent. The receptionists are very helpful, Dr Roque is friendly and very thorough, and the nurse who administered a vaccination was also most efficient and amiable. Highly recommended.

I see Dr Matthew Hoo who is a very patient and considered person and one of the most intelligent people I’ve met. He is thorough and never makes you feel rushed. Thoroughly recommend Dr Hoo to anyone seeking a next level GP.

Hands down best clinic in Wallan.Lisa and Debbie such a delight when these ladies answer the phone, although they are busy, they still have a warmth in their voices and genuine.Ash and Marie, they have been nothing but phenomenal with my kids and their immunisations, stress-free and relaxed for all involved.All the GP’s are well educated, they spend the time with you when required.

Had a booking for some vaccine shots for the family. Got a call from the clinic and was asked if we could move the appointment earlier on that day. We accommodated the move but ended up having to wait for over an hour. When the nurse eventually saw us she told us they don't have the vaccine in stock. What a total waste of time.

The customer service staff are always pleasant. The waiting room is of very good standard and other patients are polite and quiet. The rooms are also of a high standard. Dr. Katerine Roque is always pleasant, very knowledgeable and will become my husband’s doctor-with luck! My new doctor listens, discusses alternatives and provides best solutions. Her extensive background in medicine is immediately obvious. I feel I am being steered in the right direction. Thanks Wallan Medical & Specialist’s Centre.

Im a new patient and only in the area to recover from surgery. Every one made me feel welcome and in good hands. I feel safe in going back for wound check up and stitches removal. If only I had a clinic like this in Bairnsdale.

The most professional, supportive and attentive staff that I've ever experienced.Dr Niaz is amazing! Such a caring and knowledgeable GP and we're so fortunate to have her in Wallan.The practice nurses and reception staff are always available to answer questions and assist with any queries or issues that may arise.Thank you all very much.

Dr Katherine was fantastic. Gave me reassurance and listened to everything I was concerned with regarding my daughter. Will definitely be returning to see her for future visits. Thank you again.
