Wow, what an amazing day with Meryl. She has a world of knowledge and shares it freely, from the time of pickup to drop-off she kept us so we'll informed and also supplied great food and drinks throughout the day in a very comfortable 4wd bus. Our tour of Roma, the Carnarvon Gorge, and Wallaroo Station with Bookbook Ecotours is one of the best experiences we have ever had. We feel so privileged to have discovered the beauty and wonders of this part of the Queensland outback with Craig, Meryl, and Amon.This was so much more than a tour - it was like a trip with friends who know the place like themselves, and are enthusiastic to share their secret discoveries. It is clear that their deep appreciation of this country comes from their own history and connections, and from their qualifications and research as scientists. They obviously enjoy the tour and what they got to share with us as much as we did, and it is always shared with deep respect for the country, its history, and its ecosystem. They kept us fed and very comfortable, and were committed to giving us the best opportunities to enjoy ourselves. They took our spontaneous requests to change plans to explore something new or to linger when we wanted, and suggested changes to take advantage of the weather to get the most out of the day. We really enjoyed every moment.We can't recommend them highly enough, and we we can't wait to make another trip with them soon!Shane and Janel

Booked a four day trip with a photography group that was lead by the wonderful Meryl, Craig and Eamon from Boobook Ecotours. These three are a fantastic team.We were warmly welcomed and by the time we left, it felt like we were saying goodbye to old friends. If you're looking for a team that are passionate and extremely knowledgeable, look no further. The knowledge of Craig and Eamon with regards to flora and fauna was really impressive. What they don't know doesn't exist.We stayed at the Wallaroo Outback Retreat (which I also highly recommend) and Craig showed us some pretty amazing places on the 72,000 acre cattle property in the Arcadia Valley. Sunrises and sunsets like you've never experienced and not a grumble about the 4.30 am start. When we decided to do some astro photography after dinner at the last minute, Craig and Eamon were happy to take us to the perfect spot.I couldn't recommend Boobook Ecotours more highly.Thanks also to Grishma. While we didn't get a chance to meet, thanks for all your patience over the phone and via email.Happy days!

Wow! What a wonderful day we had exploring the Carnarvon ranges and Wallaroo station with Meryl. The whole tour is thoughtfully planned, the sites you visit are amazing and Meryl is a fountain of knowledge! Highly recommended tour!

We had a fantastic day out with Ecologist Craig, and happy to share the day with just one other couple. Wallaroo Station, where the tour is conducted, is amazing! A working Cattle property, but it also features incredible Aboriginal History with Rock Art plus a significant Axe sharpening site in the Dawson River bed. Zania Gorge with ancient Cycads & impressive Rock formations was another highlight. We stopped at the top of an escarpment for an incredible view of Arcadia plains, rich Cattle country. The food was yummy, the bus comfy, the guide knowledgeable, and it was worth every dollar spent!

The Discover Carnarvon Ranges Day Tour is honestly perfect as I could not fault one aspect of the entire day. It was nothing like I expected.Craig was a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide throughout the whole day. It was an amazing experience being able to explore secluded gorges on private property and the Indigenous rock art was absolutely mesmerising. The landscapes and views across the whole day were picturesque.Boobook tours are a must do, so head on out to Roma where there is plenty to do and see!

Our family of three went on a day trip around Wallaroo Station. What an amazing day! Meryl provided fantastic insights in to the landscape,ecology and history both ancient and modern of the area. This is a tour not to be missed!
