Coal Country Village
This is my first stay at the Coal Country Village after renovations for business purposes. The room was comfy enough. Overall the employees were very friendly.The room was in adequate condition, but could have used additional cleaning behind bathroom door, under vanity and the bath tub was rusting around the drain.It's obvious they are short staffed as the entry and exit foyers were filthy with dirt, cigarettes, and glasses. The CCV is okay, but it has honestly declined in quality and gone up in price. Hope you have a different experience when staying here.

Getting more average every time. Aircon doesn't work and mould throughout bathroom. Easy fixes but just doesn't happen.The next time I stayed, the air con worked but sounds like a truck engine, The room was 38 degrees when I arrived back after work and it took 3 hours for air con to get it down to 28. The old rooms are pathetic and not up to contract standard. Trying to sleep isn't going to happen either, while you head is only 2M from a speed bump outside in the laneway where trucks and utes drive up and down at over 60Km/h all night.

The staff make you feel so welcome. Their Chefs are outstanding and the food is just so delicious. From Administration to kitchenhands and housekeepers, you couldn't ask for a better place to accommodate you while being away from your loved ones.

Best place to stay, good ambiance. You will find mostly trades and company contractors staying here. Food is good; myself being vegan the kitchen staff was super excellent and took care of my dietary requirements.

Reception very helpful. Stay regularly for work. Rooms are ok, clean but some are small. Food is excellent.

1. Major drawback no wifi. Not sure why the wifi was excluded, as this is one of the basic things.2. I was planned to stay 2 weeks but has been requested to check out from the initial room (better room) with all the work gear into an older room with extremely noisy aircon.3. Foods are great

Only TV channels available in rooms are the ABC channels. A lot of washing machines and dryers are U/S. Food is awesome, 6 out of 5 for the food.

Definitely a wee gem in disguise. Compared to other lodgings in the area, I'd pick Coal Country. Great food and kitchen staff are helpful. Above average accommodation and camp staff are friendly and approachable.Walking distance to amenities always handy.
