Budgewoi Dog Beach
Normally an excellent place to enjoy the beach with your K9 companion. However, the recent east coast lows have eroded the beach to the point the original steps etc have been washed away and it is a very steep (Sheer Drop) of a few metres to the beach. This can present difficulties in getting off the beach for both you and your K9 companion.BUT....knowing the area as well as I do, I can also say that it will not be long until the sand returns, The steps etc, will probably take a LOT longer (knowing the local council)

Our local beach, a few minutes walk from home so I spend a lot of time here with our Labrador (& sometimes our son's Chihuahua Foxie). I always keep the dogs on leash if other dogs present, our poor, polite & socialised Lab has been attacked numerous times by unsocialized dogs let off leash & not controlled. Very early morning & late evening are the best times to go, luckily he's a resilient dog & has met far more friendly dogs to play with than negative encounters.Great beach for larger dogs to wallow about in the white wash, smaller dogs the surf can be a bit rough at times.

Great spacious beach with lots of room to run and play with your doggos. No swimming as it's not a patrolled beach.

Stunning clean beach. Dog friendly, Lifeguards on duty with designated swimming area. Great for swimming. No facilities, so pack a cooler with food and water. Bring an umbrella/sun shade.

Budgewoi Dog Beach
Awesome offleash dog-friendly beach. Plenty of parking and not a long walk from the street - do have to be able to trapse up a sand dune, but not too hard.Lots of space for dogs to run and play. The dunes act as a bit of a barrier to the road so stress free.Was quiet when we were there (~11am on a Sunday), but it was quite windy.Would recommend.
