There is a fat bastard inside me that is tickled and loves me when i come here. The chips and gravy are the reason why anytime i'm near newcastle that I have to stop here

Friday 10th Feb, around 6pm the store was understaffed , but busy, with people still pouring in even though the sign on the front door said we have to close at 7pm due to understaffingThe people working there, the two doing the front service, couldn’t fault them, did an excellent job even though they were under the pump, props to them, absolutely smashing it out!

Pulled up at 7.26pm on Saturday night, they were closing at 7.30, and was greeted by the most friendly staff. They placed 2 baskets of fresh chips down for me, nothing was a problem. Couldn’t have asked for better service from these 3 young friendly helpful staff! Always love Henny Penny Adamstown. Congratulations to all 3 of you and thank you ❤️

There are now only 2 stores left in Newcastle. So live near or prepare for the fact of another iconic store dissapearing

Very yum and tasty. Customer satisfaction seems a high priority for staff

Henny Penny has some of the best chicken, and the greatest gravy. This store has fast service, although a member of staff thought prime time was a good time to clean out the fridge's radiator so the experience wasn't as good as it could have been. Apart from that, fantastic staff and if you eat in, they provide plates and cups for your large drink.

Great chicken friendly staff should be more of these business around .

Clearly the big spenders get priority.I walk in and the boss is sitting at a table eating their dinner, I was the only customer in the place and ordered 2 chip and gravy rolls. Pretty simple…couple of rolls, pile on some chips and then gravy…but there’s a wait on chips you see. Customer 2, 3 and 4 come in and order hunger buster sized meal deals. Customer 5 then in and orders a substantial feed too. The batch of chips I was waiting for get dumped in the tray and no sooner disappear to customer number 2 and 3 and their monster dinner packs. Fair enough, must be friends or regulars, I’ll wear it I suppose. Next batch of chips in and my anticipation of getting out of there is similarly quashed as the first time…chips off to customers 4 and 5. Starting to feel I’m that little boy waiting at the counter of a corner shop, next chips in and whoah it’s happening. I get my chip and gravy rolls finally. The worst part of this is it’s the second time I’ve put up with this at Henny Penny Adamstown, can only imagine it happens all of the time now. Won’t be back…oh and the one star you ask? It’s for the empty car park when I arrived.

Please hire staff that want to actually greet, or ask the customer in full what they would like to order.I got a what do you want (mumbled) and a pretentious attitude, as though it was a hassle just to order. Young lady at 1p.m was quite rude indeed.
