Venus Baths
Venus Baths is a beautiful rock pool area that is located at the bottom of the side of one of the mountains in the Grampians, with million year old formations that are perfectly formed to plunge into or cool your feet. It’s an easy walk for all ages along the well designed access track. Make sure you inform kids how slippery the rocks are; there is always someone who ends up slipping and sliding. No facilities here, take out what you take in or save the picnic for Halls Gap. Access is through the rear gate in the Botanical Gardens or slightly longer via the path at the back of the caravan park.

We parked at the Botanic Gardens and walked through them to the start of the Venus Baths walk. An easy loop walk along a clear, wide gravel path up to the rock pools. Just before the pools there is a bridge, but no signage. The pools and naturally carved slides can be quite slippery. There was a large school group enjoying the pools the day we went! There are interesting rock formations along the way. We also spotted a couple of wallabies. The path back was much narrower and appeared less used. It exited at the caravan park where again there were no signs, but after some scouting around we found a bridge on the left leading back to the Botanic Gardens. This walk could definitely be improved with a couple of extra signs. There are no public facilities (toilets, water) in this area.

It’s an easy hiking, and arrived with a view — a natural bath with a view. It’s a popular place with family but when we were there, it’s quite late hence no one was there but us.

Venus baths is very close to the Halls gap botanic gardens and is ideal for families with kids. Easy troll via Botanic Gardens and from car park side, making it a loop walk. Ideal when it gets too hot on summer days.

There are 2 walking tracks to this beautiful attraction. The easier track is through the botanic garden. The 2 tracks lie either side of the creek. Amazing rock formations high above your head and the beautiful Baths themselves. Only 2 kms return walk. Walk starts behind the caravan park. Venus baths is situated at the base of elephants hide, a big rock escarpment that looks like elephants skin. From here you can also continue onto the wonderland loop which is a strenuous hike up to the Pinnacle lookout or just onto splitters falls. It’s my fave place walk in the Grampians

From botanical gardens it’s about a 1 km easy walk inside. It is a beautiful walk till the end, peaceful and reaches the water flow surrounded by big rocks!! Was nice to just walk and sit there to see the water flowing…
