Ruby's Fried Chicken

Amazing fried chicken and the girl who served us was fantastic and friendly. Very dog friendly. Will definitely come back again.

It was ok but I'm unlikely to come back. Chicken at very hot wasn't particularly hot for a chilli lover, which is ok for calibration. It was juicy inside, crunchy outside. I also had chicken without heat in the burger to help calibrate on flavour but honestly without the spice mix it's too boring and you should always get some heat in there. Pickles are super important in this style of fried chicken and it lets the whole thing down, it really needs investment, room for improvement with the slaw too. Also, the disrespect that they call it a sando when its brioche bun in american style fried chicken burger, nothing like a cut sandwich in the Japanese style, that labelling is quite confused. My main gripe isn't with the food however, but the fact that I order to eat in and yet it still comes in a tall-ish takeaway box anyway, no simple tray, and when you sit down and place it on the table it I can't eat over my food at all, the seat isn't high enough or the table isn't low enough to eat in inside. I'm not tall but not particularly short either but it's mind boggling that they haven't thought about such a simple aspect of the customer experience.

The chicken is crunchy and juicy… I would love it if the burger will be bit bigger. The taste is very close to the original Nashville chicken, I try the hot one and it is alright for someone who likes spicy. I will come back

The tastiest fried chicken!! The seasoning on the tenders is so tasty and they're so crunchy! Great seasoning on the crinkle cut fries and a really tasty accompanying sauce. The tender & wing boxes are both deceivingly generous. I thought I'd need to add another tender but couldn't even finish my fries! The side of corn is must as well as a pink lemonade. We went on a Friday night and could see how popular the place is and rightly so!

I asked for a wings box with original spice which says no heat for the kids. Got home and the wings were the same spice level as the other wings I ordered with hot-n-heavy. Kids couldn't eat it. On top of that no contact phone number. Quite disappointing as the food was really nice. I would like a refund or replacement on the wings box I ordered with no heat that the kids couldn't eat.Issue has now been resolved. I was given a full refund for the Wings box with an extra wing. Happy with the result and as per my previous comments, the food was great. I will be back to eat again. Rating updated.

Food here was quite nice as we enjoyed our burgers and chips. The service here was nice but they may need more people working at the front as the tables needed clearing and the bins needed replacing. The lady in front did mention a staff shortage which may also attribute to the long wait for our food. Despite that, the food was worth waiting for. Was a big fan of the drinks too. Don’t be afraid to go hotter with your chicken as we personally found it okay. We selected the third and fourth level.

My fave burger place, Happy Endings, closed and reinvented itself as Ruby’s Fried Chicken. This fried chicken sando was superb. The thigh fillet was juicy and melt in your mouth tender. Could arguably be the best I’ve had to date, imho, and highly recommend.

Picking up where Happy Endings left off, but now focussing on fried chicken instead of burgers, the team at Mr Gee delivers again. American style fried chicken either as wings or tenders, and offering 5 levels of heat (six if you include the option to go without spice). The chicken had super crunchy skin and the meat was deliciously soft and juicy. The chips were seasoned beautifully with lots of flavour. I like my heat so the XXX level (2nd hottest) was fine, but your tastes may vary. Coleslaw was ok, providing balance to the heat. The servings are very generous, you won’t leave feeling hungry. I had ordered an extra tender, however half the meal will carry over to lunch tomorrow.Put your diet on hold for an evening, apologise to your cardiologist and try Rubys.
