DJ was super friendly. Very professional. Answered all my questions without judgement. Was upfront and honest about how busy they were. We had to wait two weeks to get booked in, but that didn't bother us. On the day he was very welcoming again. When we picked up the car the boys had done a brilliant job. They'd gone above and beyond. They'd done the job that we asked, and highlighted everything that we need to keep an eye on going forward. Fixed a few little things that I'd not noticed as well. A very good experience with the boys at Smart Off-Road. Thank you!

After breaking down in our 100series cruiser right at the start of Finke week, DJ and the boys fully booked out, still took on the massive job, fixed the whole front end and had the ol girl back on the road in 2 days..Can't thank you enough. Very highly recommend

I had lost my water tank caps but even though he sourced a wide variety of replacements we couldn't find one. I thanked him for his efforts

After taking my 1999 Pajero to a shop and having a tube up performed, it was left running terribly. Over the course of the next 8 months, I took it to 2 shops for extreme loss of power and extremely rough idle. Both shops couldn’t figure out the exact issue and both charged in excess of $800 for labour. Then I took it to myCar for a service and rego inspection and it was given back with a failed slip and a long list of issues that “needed” to be fixed totaling around $3200.Fed up, I took a friends advice and called DJ. He was immediately able to get it in and I told him to please find what was wrong and if it would be over $1500 to call and discuss with me. A few days later, he called and asked me to come to the shop where he took me into the service port and showed me all the the different parts with issues. He took the time and explained what other mechanics failed to find noting they should have been able to easily find the issue. He gave me the estimate at that point with some recommendations of things to do while he had the top end of the motor apart. Around $1400 was the quote. He awaited parts and put it all back together. The quote was what I was charged and this off-roader runs better than it ever has before. I noticed a quiet motor, way more power, and much better fuel efficiency. I highly recommend DJ and his mechanics for all your automotive needs. He is honest and fair, and does exactly what he says he’ll do.

After having my remapped (in NSW) Prado go into limp mode, I paid Smart Off Road $2k to remap the engine again. After leaving Alice Springs, I only drove for a couple of hours before the engine went into limp mode again. I finally made it to Darwin where a far more knowledgeable mechanic was amazed at the poor work that had been done by Smart Off Road and he took photos to show me. Since getting the engine remapped (again!) in Darwin, the car has been running beautifully.If you're thinking about using Smart Off Road, my recommendation is DON'T!!

I would NOT recommend Smart Off-road Mechanical.Dropped my car in last Monday for a same-day job. A week and a half later, with never a SINGLE phone call from the company (despite us calling them multiple times) the $600 job ended up being $2200 without ever telling us of the change.Failure to order the correct parts, swapping them out for parts double the price without giving us the option to wait (another) 2 weeks for them to be ordered in.The #1 issue was pure laziness with communication.

Always busy, but try their hardest to work in our erratic schedules.Good mechanical experience and friendly staff.

Had a leaking rear main seal on my V8 troopy...lm very particular about who works on my rig as this is a gearbox out repair...l had a clear and concise talk with DJ regarding the job ...and timeframe...the job was done on the day of booking and on quote which l really appreciate due to its my home and my invoice was easy to understand and itemized..lam really happy with the job ...it was stress free booking in and DJ is professional and easy to talk to..l highly recommend Smart off road if it works for me it will you too 5 stars....

After calling into 2 other businesses for a repair to our camper trailer these guys helped us out on the spot. Congratulations guys on great service.

Arrived in Alice springs on Saturday, had a friend who is a mechanic. He listened to our car, said he couldn't do the work on the car because he was going bush for work. Put in touch with Off road. They identified the issues, booked in the car for today. They fixed the the problem with great professional service. Had it all fixed and checked so ready to continue with our trip. Thank you guys.
