Wollondilly Cave
Great place for a weekend trip. The Wombeyan Cave is about 3 hrs drive from Sydney one way. About 2hrs unsealed road. It is accessible by a 2WD and i've seen a bmw m3 on this way. But at least AWD is recommended as the road condition is bad. Plan sufficient time as there are a lot to see on the road. Thanks to the guide, John Mango. He makes the Cave Tour fabulous.

Wonderful experience!A 3hr drive from Sydney, you get to wander through the cave and take a walk through time. As you walk through, the lights will illuminate and informative speakers will sound.Note that there is a $20 entry fee for the self guided tour

Guided tour provided great detail of the caves and the geological formations within. About 2hrs drive from Canberra, including a small section of unsealed road.

Wollondilly Cave
A really fun and up close experience. I think you can only access these caves through a guided tour which I highly recommend and if you're stretched for time, definitely do this one over the self guided tour for fig tree cave. The Wollondilly caves were amazing you get to see many different structures and formations. There are some parts of the tour that have low ceilings and small spaces so might not be great for people who are claustrophobic.

What a beautiful cave. We decided to get the Pass for $33 to visit Wollondilly Cave and Fig Tree Caves and took the 1 pm tour. Our guide was amazing and shared incredible stories and tried to made us understand how 400 million years would look like nowadays (by the time you read so far you would have been gone already).I absolutely and highly recommend the tour and the drive out.

Wollondilly caves or Wombeyan caves are similar to Jenolan caves. You can plan for a one day trip from Sydney or Canberra region. Or you can plan a camping trip. There is plenty of space for camping. Also you can see a lot of brush tailed wallabies.Things to noteNo mobile reception but there is a telstra phone booth. If you are coming via Taralga road almost 15 km its dirt and gravel road.

A great place to take the kids. Camping and visit the Caves. There are several Caves and some you can guid yourself. The road in and out was dirt and a lot of fun in itself.

Went for the 2nd time with Mango a super quirky tour guide such a great guy, give your yourself 2 hrs and at the moment the cave is very active a heap of water dripping through. A heap of great views and history.
