Great place to visit.Absolutely fantastic food for Kazzy's birthday lunch entrée salt & pepper prawns , seared Salmon special & sirloin steak with salad.The beers & wine were cold the service was hot the atmosphere was refreshing.Give the Thoroughbred ago.

Went for a late lunch. 8 people at tables. 3 staff in the kitchen. 1 staff behind cafe counter and bar maid wandering around vaguely.We were the only two people waiting for service.2 toasties $2715 minute wait for a beer. I was the only person at the bar.Dreadful service and expensive for what you get at the cafe.Deplorable service and attitude. Will drive to Willowtree for a beer and feed before I would go back to the Thoroughbred.

Went in for taco Tuesday only to be told that it isn’t a thing anymore. New menu apparently, only old menus there, had to be told three different times that what we wanted wasn’t on the 'new' menu. Pretty average, really expensive food and beer.

Didn't sleep here, so can't comment on the hotel side of things, but it's a beautiful little spot with a beer garden out the back and the best savoury muffins you will ever have!Highly recommend

Ordered a Chicken Schnitzel Burger which was Raw so had to be returned. Other people with me ordered Steaks in which 2 were meant to be medium-rare and 1 well done but they all came out extremely rare. Considering it was the Scone Racing Championships and one of the biggest weekends there i would of thought that everything would of been on point, the pub was not busy at all either. After a brief conversation when returning the raw chicken burger i dont think that the chef on duty was an actual chef.

The most amazingly clean and friendly place to stay. Enjoy a few cold ales, the food and hospitality is second to none especially after a long day on the road. Molly and Bella always provide a service with a smile, always accommodate the smallest of requests, so cannot recommend The Thoroughbred more to anyone traveling in and around the Scone area. Worth stopping in, spending the night (rooms are great) and see all what Scone has to offer. Get around it.
