Shell servo and adjacent Outback Bar and grill restaurant, a good place to stop in Coober Pedy.The fuel station was found to have the best petrol / diesel prices between Port Augusta and Alice Springs (at the time of visiting), significantly less expensive than the other roadhouses on the route, so we made use of this stop in both directions and ate at the next-door restaurant when heading north

Great restaurant, very modern and well presented. Staff are friendly, sit down meals are wonderful. However there takeaway food options are pretty dismal. The only sandwich's that ever seem to be available (pre-made) are ham and cheese, or turkey/chicken and cheese, a bit of salad wouldn't go astray, especially for people just wanting a quick bite to take back on the road with them, and not have to wait for an order to be made.

Was able to use the shower for a small fee which was appreciated. The food at the bar and grill was not cheap but was good quality. Plenty of automotive / tools / hardware items available for purchase.

Not cheap here, as expected. Attendant happily picks nose and we happily got fuel after getting lunch at the adjoining cafe and receiving 5c per liter off - representing a 2% discount! An old man sold me opals from his pocket in the carpark and we happily continued on our way.
