Department of Transport and Main Roads - Selected services only Zillmere

I was failed 3 times at the Zillmere test centre and each time the test was terminated within the first 10-15 mins for errors which made no sense whatsoever! I find the staff totally racist and unprofessional in comparison to the interaction I see with others at the centre. I have been driving for many years overseas however this doesn’t seem to be of any value as supposedly its not up to the Australian standard. It’s very disheartening the way the staff here make no effort to put you at ease and how abruptly they terminate the test saying ‘fatal error’ makes one wonder if the problem is my ethnicity or my driving. Would not recommend this centre, terrible trained staff.

I had a driving test here today to convert my overseas licence and my driving instructor was an old man named A O (I think Andrew).As soon as he walked out the gate, he looked at me top to bottom for a few seconds (I'm middle eastern) and made a frowning face, then walked over to some other people and called my name. I told him that's me. He then asked to walk over to my car, and on the way made a comment about how my name is strange. I replied that yes, my name is not common in western countries. He also made another comment about us making it so busy that they have to take tests on Saturdays now which he was not happy about! I could easily sense strong racism from him, but smiled and continued.A few minutes into the driving test, he asked me to do a U-turn at an intersection with no u-turn allowed signs. I was confused and told him the rules clearly state that you must not do a U-turn at an intersection with no signs. He said I'm only going to ask you one more time" in an angry tone

Very quick service (because no customers were there at 3,30pm). But the employee at the desk with beautiful nails was so bored, so annoyed and so cocky. Did DTMR ever consider a regular recurrent training for the staff at the desk? It could help your reputation.

Absolutely terrible stay away tried to get a trailer seen to as it’s not got readable no signing not enough staff I see why they only have a 2.6 star ⭐️ I would give them zero stars if I could due to in organised

My wallet was stolen and I was trying to get a replacement licence with my updated address on it. Walked up to the counter with a smile and said hello. Was greeted with a very grumpy, what do you need?" paired with sigh. Needless to say the following conversations were short and ill tempered. Very unhelpful and very rude with no reason to be. What happened to manners?"

I found the staff here nothing short of exceptional. My customer service agent Anthony, was thorough when handling my enquiry and did his best to help me get a favourable result. Whilst I was waiting for my issue to be dealt with, the rest of the service staff were busy making sure that their Covid -19 protocols were in place actively working.The team are professional and friendly and I recommend them highly.

The guys were awesome, very friendly & helpful. Wish all transport inspectors were as pleasant as these guys.

I showed up to the Zillmere location hoping they could solve my issue with vehicle registration, but once i walked in and talked to someone at the kiosk they told me they only do heavy vehicles and trailers. They could at least say in their title that this TMR is specialized only in big vehicles.

Went to go sort out my license and the centre was closed. Not surprising, it was the weekend. But out front, they had 4 seats with at least 8+ people standing outside waiting as well. The person who I had to deal with was very rude and had poor customer service skills. If that person was working for my business, they'd be fired within a week for manners like that. Luckily, there's plenty of centres around this one so go literally anywhere else except here and Carseldine.
