Miss Marples Cafe is an excellent scenic cafe with Gluten Free food and artisan chefs preparing every dish, cake and drink. The local stores all supply quirky and interesting day to day items to use as iconic memoirs of your trip. And there are delicious local foods from all over Vic to take home as well as beautiful boutique fashions from local artisans.

You know I know it's a tourist destination but man, it's tired. The same old same old and customer service in each shop I went to was rather bland and just not enough food options. Cold, but no shops had the heating on. Best of all of them was the candle shop.

In a beautiful area, yet sadly, it's always too crowded. Impossible to get a table for lunch.

Lovely place with lots of good eateries and specialty shops. Very popular with Victorian, interstate and overseas visitors. Bookings are essential for many restaurants, including the iconic Miss Marple's Tea Room, especially at weekends and public holidays.

If you're looking for a scenic and peaceful escape from the city, look no further than the charming little shopping village up in the mountains. Nestled among the trees, this village is a haven for shoppers looking for unique and high-quality items. The village is filled with a variety of cute little specialty shops, each with its own unique style and offerings. From handmade jewelry to artisanal cheeses, there is something for everyone here. However, it's important to note that these shops can be a little on the expensive side, so be prepared to spend a bit more for quality items. To get to the village, you'll need to take a very windy but scenic drive through the trees. It's a bit of a journey, but the views along the way are absolutely breathtaking. Just be sure to plan accordingly and allow enough time for the drive.Parking in the village can be a challenge, especially on weekends. To avoid the crowds, it's best to go early or during the week. Additionally, if you have your heart set on visiting a particular cafe restaurant, it's a good idea to make reservations in advance to avoid disappointment on weekends.Despite its small size, the village is full of charm and character. You could easily walk the whole village in under an hour, but it's worth taking your time to browse and explore. And while you're there, be sure to grab a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants or cafes. The food is delicious, and it's a great way to make the drive up to the village worth your while.Overall, the shopping village up in the mountains is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a unique and peaceful shopping experience. With its quaint shops, beautiful scenery, and delicious food, it's the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a relaxing day in the mountains.

If you like exploring hidden gems like i do, you will like Sassafras Village. It is a nostalgic hidden heritage gem in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.Similar to Olinda Village, the Sassafras village has a small strip of character filled shops (imagine door of antique shops with handles that look like half mermaids & half Hindu goddess), family run cafes, and Devonshire high tea in a quaint tearoom across the highway! You can easily spend a couple of hours browsing the antique, art, craft, Proserpina bakery, Geppetto's Workshop and tea leaves. Some were closed during the holiday season but even from the windows and door handles you could tell they were selling some cool and vintage things!Although you will have to keep an eye out on the road not to miss this hidden gem, it is totally worth it.
