Charbonnier Hotel, Singleton, NSW

Pool ok. Needs a handrail for easier access. Clean. Breakfast very basic. No fresh fruit anymore. Staff very friendly and helpful till the manager came out and without provocation started arguing with me when I asked if he had a trolley to get my bags to my car or if I could have disability assistance as I was not told you dont park at your door but have to enter through a hall inside. He said that was my responsibility and I could have seen that when I drove in. I said I didnt drive in till after I'd booked. Then he told me I should have booked direct and I had, but noone had mentioned that even though I mentioned I had a disability. (They had however given me an excellent location. ) He told me not to argue with him because he'd win. I had simply asked a question. His response was totally unprovoked. I will NEVER go there again and feel for the staff working for such an abusive manager. They were lovely.

Very nice accommodation, happy to recommend. Rooms were clean and a very good size. Bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet so we had a good nights sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had a dip in the pool and a lovely complimentary continental breakfast. Overall a very enjoyable stay and great value. We will be back when next in town.

Property Manager was extremely RUDE when we were asking some relevant questions. He just said that we took too much of his time when it was a minute or so. He just said to cancel the current reservation and find some where else and hung up on us. We were SHOCKED by this kind of customer service.Not recommended to anybody. Please be aware of this property manager. Wanted to give 0 stars but couldn't post it without rating it.

Nice accommodation on a decent price. Rooms were clean and well presented. The property has a decent size swimming pool. Although we had complimentary breakfast, but the food options were really limited. Overall a pleasant stay at a great value.

Had a very nice stay with a family member here for over a week - the manager is very helpful & professional as are the staff . Sheets , towels , beds all good & comfortable- the pool was so lovely & well kept - in a great setting in large well kept grounds so relaxing outside. Restaurant food was a great surprise good quality- room service available from restaurant at dinner time from5 30 pm . Will be back when I next visit the Hunter valley region !

Very old structure but the rooms are not refurbished. My room was supposed to have a microwave but it didn't and the staff was not much helpful to arrange anything. Doesn't help if you are on a five days work trip and the weather is cold.

Stayed here on our roadtrip for one night. The rooms were clean and well-presented. The real star of the show was the food! The hostess was lovely and welcoming and the food portions and quality were amazing! As a family of German origin we were pleasantly surprised at the authenticity (will definitely be getting the schupfnudeln next time) and the beer selections! Amazing and considering staying again on our return trip!

Was pleasantly surprised how good it was for the price. Beautiful foyer, rooms were clean and beds well presented and comfy, view over pool & grounds was nice, smart TV had streaming apps. The pool seemed clean and I liked that the palm trees shaded it, outdoor eating area looked nice enough. I did in part book due to continental breakfast being included, but unfortunately it wasn’t on on Xmas day … that’s probably something I should’ve checked on booking lol, but I don’t think it specified that on the website … however, I did get an email in advance that it wouldn’t be open, so I was able to make other plans without being too put out. I mean I can’t complain otherwise; it was a lovely stay for a day & night and if I’m ever up that way again, I’d stay again.

Clean, reasonably priced and an ok location too (though a little far to walk to town).Breakfast was continental and ok,Coffee was ok…Everything about the place was ok,Even had a nice warm outdoor pool (but it was really too cold weather to use)Kids loved the fish pond and water feature!TV had a fire stick installed so happily watched Netflix and prime!!Yep, a perfectly adequate hotel, not superb, not bad either…should really be a four star rating…..Except I’m five starring it…..Because….The showers….Oh-MY-GOSH!!Amazing….And by that, I mean …Monsoon quantity of water that’s more than capable of sloughing off your skin if you turn the taps too much!Yep, you could comfortably fill a bath (if there were one) and poach eggs at the same time!In the worryingly close to five decades of my life, I’ve rarely experienced a shower time as decadent.You turn the taps on, ensure the temperature is fine then step under and feel yourself being pounded flat by the waterfall above your head.Then you turn the temperature up till it’s just , but not quite uncomfortable and embrace the deluge.
