The first time I went to LaTorta i was specifically in need of good white chocolate for cake pops. The employee insisted on a particular type of chocolate that was not callebaut. I purchased the chocolate thinking great this employee did me a favor and saved me money, but when i got home the chocolate was not suitable for cake pops at all and I had to buy callebaut anyways.The second time I used the advice of an employee was for lustre dust. The dust itself works but after I did a lot of online education" I realized they should've sold me rose spirit to help

Refused to refund an item bought minutes before. Point to your refund policy on the wall all you want. How about decent customer service?_______________________________________________________________________[Update:] Okay I was pretty angry when I wrote the review. But owner's equally snippy response has deterred me from ever coming back. All of the big retailers will provide a refund with a valid receipt for change of mind. I think none of the staff can remember because I was served by the owner.

I make a weekly visit to Latorta to purchase all of my cake decorating supplies. I love shopping at Latorta as the staff are extremely helpful, always willing tolisten to any questions I have and always provide great advice. The range of supplies and brands is excellent and I always walk away a happy customer.

I absolutely love shopping here! Every time I visit I find something fun to buy for my baking adventures. The staff are absolutely wonderful and so helpful in providing professional advice. I loved the cupcake decorating class I did here and can't wait to do another course soon. It was so great and hands on and I learnt so much! There is simply no other store like it in the ACT and I can't recommend it more highly.

I’d rather do 2.5 stars, but can’t. HOWEVER, we had a printed edible image icing sheet made (5 inch) and it really was terrific!! However, we also ordered a small sponge cake (which was lopsided and frozen!!!) and when asked if they also ice the cakes (would’ve happily paid extra) a slightly ‘sharp’ lady said, “No!!” So, we bought our own icing and attempted the task ourselves. Wouldn’t sting so bad weren’t it for the fact that it was a 5 inch cake AND we paid over $70 (yes, you read correctly). For me? For future reference either get a professional to do the whole shebang OR have La Torta do the image, THEN give it to professional to build the cake.

Great store. Bricks and mortar places are usually more expensive than online, but after hours of research I found their prices comparable to what I could get from the web. Excellent advice and support which you can't get when buying online.

I went in over weekend for the first time with a project to make my brother's wedding cake - having never done tiered cakes or using fondant these ladies went above expectations to give me guidance and get me fully equipped (despite the fact that I must have been there for an hour or two whilst it was busy!) - I had a lot of fun developing ideas and walked out feeling a lot more confident to take on this project.After having seen their range I jumped on to the online store which is easy to navigate to get some additional baking and decorative equipment... I couldn't help myself... and the order was on my doorstep the next morning along with a text to notify me despite living over hour away!I couldn't be happier with the service from Latorta and their team, I'll definitely be back! :)

I enjoyed a school holiday course with my daughter. The lesson was great, very tailored and everything was provided. The teacher was very friendly too. We had a great time learning loads of new tricks.

Great baking supplies. I am a big fan of Loranne natural oil flavourings and they are hard to find, but Latorta has them!If you bake or decorate a cake the colouring here are great, it takes a whole bottle of the grocery store stuff and still has no colour, these a little dab will work. Such a difference. I was hoping for a decorating class over school holidays for my granddaughter, but unfortunately they aren't doing it this year.....maybe this summer.
