A lovely family friendly attraction to visit while you’re in Fremantle. They run multiple tours which don’t overlap much with each other; we did the true crime tour which we found very interesting. Our guide Debbie was very knowledgeable and kept us engaged with many interesting real life stories. We got to see the inside of some cells and got to go into a gun tower as well, although if you want to see more of that kind of things you’ll have to do the behind bars tour.Highly recommend whether you’re a tourist, or a local looking for something fun and educational at the same time.

Step back in time to when Perth was a convict colony, this is a great historical site. Guides have an abundance of knowledge they are very happy to share with you. Multiple tours to select from.

Did 4 tours and thoroughly enjoyed them all. The past history of this place is very interesting and well worth the visit. The staff were excellent and all very different in their approach. The most disappointing thing is that they don't accept Veterans Cards as a concession. I've never had this rejected anywhere else in my travels. So definitely something they should address.

We did the behind bars tour. The guide was very enthusiastic and explained the history of the prison very well. It was hard to believe that it was still in use up to 1991. We got to see quite a lot of the prison areas including some dressed cells, the kitchens and the prison gallows. The charge sheets in the women's prison were fascinating. We didn't have time to do any other tours but the earlier history of the transported prisoners would have been interesting. The displays in the courtyard area were very good. I liked the histories of individual prisoners and the objects found during excavations. Cafe was good for coffee (from a nespresso machine but fine) and banana bread after the tour.

Unexpectedly nice place to closely walk into the place of crime and captivity. The tour guide gives us the knowledge of the background of prison and how it worked through these past years. Good educational values

Really interesting place to visit, the tour I did was even better a gaining behind the scenes access and extra information. Ken the guide was incredible. My only issue was it wasn’t long enough, it felt a little rushed and I could have listen to him talk for hours more.

Went on a Saturday morning with a group booking. Prison is located near the Fremantle Markets. We arrived an hour early for 10am tour . There are three different types of Tours , Convict , Behind bars and the Tunnel tour . I did the convict tour costing $20 each. Our guide was very informative and from a history an architecture perspective it was enjoyable tour takes an hour and about the only thing need to keep your mind is there's a lot of steps to walk up. They have package tours and Apparently there's also a night tour if you want to be frightened bye the many unjustly convicted Souls still roaming the halls but I'm just speculating there anyway well worth the visit check it out if you can

What an amazing experience today. We did the convict tour and learnt so much. The tour guide Ian was so knowledgeable. The buildings were interesting and mind blowing on how the convicts mined the limestone and cut them and assembled them.

A really fascinating place to visit. Learning about how it was built and how the prisoners were living and the number of stories just keeps you wondering. A great place for history lovers. They have different types of tickets available for day tours and night tours. It's best to buy the tickets in advance especially if visiting on weekends. A must visit and is suitable for all ages.

This prison is full of history which has been well documented. It's definitely worth a visit once you're in Fremantle. Take the guided tour that takes around an hour and see why this place is a world heritage site. Friendly, friendly staff as well as they tell you to stay out of a prison when you're leaving.
