We recently moved from Birkdale to West End. In the move, we were devastated when our movers broke the solid American oak head board of our sleigh bed. It was our most expensive piece of furniture and had great sentimental value as well as it had been a gift to us - we had specifically asked our movers to be extra careful with it. We were even more upset when the movers took it to an expert" in furniture repair who said it wasn't possible to fix.We did some searching online and liked what he saw on the website of Smith and Gray Furniture Makers - they have some great reviews online and have won lots of awards for their work. Smith and Gray make furniture of the highest quality. I had two 2 seater leather lounges made and they are just fabulous. They designed the pieces from my description, making the frames in their workshop and then having them upholstered by specialist upholsterers. After using Smith and Gray 11 years ago to design and make our bed (still our favourite piece of furniture we own) I recently contacted Mark to design and build a custom ashes box.I cannot thank Mark and Wendy enough for the care and compassion that they put into this project. From the design, to the laser etching, to the care put into preparing it for an interstate delivery. Mark took the design inspiration from my 8 year old son and turned it into something truly beautiful.We received the box this week and it is nothing short of perfect. I have no doubt the construction will stand the test of time the same way their furniture has.

Open and friendly, professional and masterful. I asked for a dinning/board gaming table, for a table with character, Smith and Gray listened to what i was after and made an amazingly comfortable and beautiful table that exceeded what I'd envisioned. Mark and Dave provided excellent advise and service and I am very happy with my wall unit. The delivery and installation staff were very professional and i would happily recommend Smith and Grey for individual furniture creations.

Very easy to work with and their work is incredible. You definitely get what you pay for - I'm pretty sure the bookcase they made me will outlast every other bit of furniture that I own and its just gorgeous. Hopefully I can be a customer again soon!
