Hope Valley Reservoir
Hope Valley Reservoir is Adelaide's oldest reservoir. It was gradually opened to the public at the end of 2020.Hope Valley Reservoir Reserve provides a range of trails stretching a total of 4.9 km which together with tree-lined footpaths, provides a loop of the reservoir for easy access walking and cycling. There’s a great outlook across the water to the hills from much of the trail, including the 800m dam wall which we can walk across. The trail here is ideal for walking and running with room for families to enjoy a picnic. There is a car park just below the reservoir dam.

There is a small car park off Lyons road which gives to access to the path overlooking the reservoir. A walk all the way around ( approx 5km) is ok but a lot of it is actually along roads not within the reservoir. There are some arrows along the way but not with distances, the map at the car park also didn’t indicate the distance all the way around. Toilet facilities good and some shaded areas. The paths are not sealed so is a bit hot and dusty in summer. Hopefully things will improve as it develops more but it’s a start.

Great walking and riding place however most trails are outside of the view of the reservoir. Hopefully they will open it up more .

It's OK. It does feel enclosed as there are lots of fences that you walk next to. The toilets are clean and the view of the reservoir over the fences is pretty.

False advertising -and a waste of time. Hardly worth being open to the public with less than 1/2 of the tracks anywhere near the reservoir and over 1/2 a long busy roads. All this wonderful space with plenty of room for tracks within the boundary and beautiful water crying out for kayaks, canoes, rowers and small sail dinghys - a totally wasted public land resource. If there is no money available to make tacks then get volunteers.

That is such as a great place to come and visit, even though it is not open the whole area for people to walk, however, people can still walk from one side to another (approximately 15mins). I really enjoyed and appreciated what I have seen today. Definitely I will come again and again!Best view in Hopevally !!!

They might open up public access more at a later stage, but at the moment the walks would never get within 30m of the water. Of the displayed walking path around the reservoir only about one third on the grounds of the reservoir and the rest on public roads outside the fence. Why bother, wait.

Worst excuse for a walk around a reserve ever. One heavily fenced off walk along the dam wall with a fence so thick you can't see the whole reservoir. Why not open up the rest of the trails so the pubic can walk around through the forest? Not worth wasting a walk on sorry
