So interesting to see the history of the Yilgarn. You will really enjoy this experience if you take the time to really look, and speak to the volunteers that are very happy to see you and help with any questions

The volunteers opened up the place for us as the hours on Google maps were incorrect (updated now). Huge variety of items including photographs Cemetery records, school magazines and outside there are machinery displays. Beautifully curated.

The court room is a treat to roam around and the miniature working scaled version of the mining process is very helpful. Would recommend

The Yilgarn History museum is a wonderful collection of precious historical items of many kinds, in an equally fantastic heritage building. Especially loved the bottle collection! Great old photos of Bullfinch, which I was particularly keen to see, given my family connection to the area. Highly recommended.

Yilgarn History Museum
What a superb local history museum, one of the best I have visited. Very friendly and knowledgable volunteer staff who help in any way they can. The best exhibit by far: Dowd's peg and letter, its so evocative of the prospector early days (1887!) and is a truly unique artefact.Its Free and highly recommended, its better than the Kalgoorlie Goldfields museum!
