A great experience and introduction to sapphire hunting. Keith and co provide all tools needed and show you what to do along with identifying the sapphires … and there were sapphires. All in all a great experience.

Great selection of bigger pieces he does gem cutting as well. If you miss your fur baby they have a monster sook. Watch your knees he's a leaner.

Good pricing

Was very worthy have a fossicking tour with Keith and the Mrs. We spent whole morning and only two of us. In the low season but still have much fun for fossicking by ourselves. Keith is very knowledgeable and helpful. We found a lot sapphire and brought them to Dave for cutting. Really enjoyed and highly recommend!

I don’t know which side of the bed some of the previous reviewers got out of. Keith, the tour guide was great. A bit of a rough diamond but very helpfull,friendly & informative. We managed to find 15 stones with 4 being suitable for cutting. This is our second outing with Keith & all going well it won’t be our last. GREAT DAY!

If you want the chance at finding a good sapphire then you want to make a booking to go out with Kieth here!My partner and I visited Rubyvale for my birthday with the goal of finding a special stone together, the fossicking tour with Kieth was hard but rewarding work and definitely the way to go about our goal! We went out twice in a row! Kieth is cheeky, dry and fantastic company as well as extremely knowledgable.Be prepared to earn your stones on the pick and shovel as you go at your own pace- my partner and I were very determined but found the process extremely rewarding. Our finds were made all that more exciting as we earned them with our aching bones and blistered hands.We absolutely loved this authentic experience, and we will surely be back to do it all over again as soon as life allows.Dave in the shop is also a fantastic help, he offers honest feedback regarding your gem findings and a great price to cut any of your winners. They also offer a number of great cast options to set your gems when the job is done. As well as hold a beautiful selection of ready made pieces or loose gems to set should you be unsuccessful fossicking for your own. Please give these guys a visit!

Good price and honest feedback of forsicking stone whether it is worth facetting. Mrs bought a Sapphire ring which I think is good value.
