Wonderful tasting experience, and the best port I’ve ever had. Katherine (one of the owners) was friendly and welcoming — and she even suggested another nearby winery to visit that was also a great experience!

First impressions: disorganised, no-one knew how to serve us best: tasting? meal? It wasn’t busy.Ordering: took ages to get menus. Menu itself is confusing; mains were on a page entitled ‘Friday and Saturday evenings’. Took ages to take order. One other table, admittedly large, but NOT busy.Food: actually rather yummy; the reason for 2⭐️ not 1⭐️. Salad was delicious, platters very yummy. Barra fillets were very good, except small for $36 per serve.Ending: for some reason it was hard to get the bill. Felt like they didn’t care.Overall: need to employ competent wait-staff and get menu in order. Pretty view but not enough to make it up.

Do yourself a favour - read the reviews before coming here for food.We had a similar experience to the other 1 star reviews - wish we'd read them before we came.Upon arrival, we were greeted by two seperate people who didn't know how to help us. A third person didn't seem to know about our online booking, but got us a table and presented a set (very limited) menu.We mentioned the menu we had seen on the website and were told it wasn't available and shouldn't still be on the website. The garlic bread entreau was disappointing.Steak was ok but very oily. The Brut was nice, however when we asked about purchasing a bottle, we were told it wasn't for sale. This is the only place in Broke we haven't enjoyed (and we come to Broke regularly). We believe in supporting local businesses, however Nightingale wines have alot of work to do before they can be considered a restaurant, or expect anything better than 1 star reviews from patrons. If the owners read these reviews, here's my recommendation for you:You have a beautiful location. Clean the place, improve your service + menu, and train all staff, so visitors feel welcome, enjoy their time and come back.

Staff are friendly and do try to make your visit comfortable. However, the food is disappointing, with the chef forgetting to include part of our party's meal, and the wait staff unaware of what's on the menu. Similarly, the person who ran our wine tasting had no idea about what she was pouring, and was unable to make any suggestions other than to say that 'it's all good.' The grounds and vineyards are beautiful, but the restaurant looks dated. We last visited several years ago, and were delighted. This return trip was a disappointment. There are many excellent vineyards and cellar doors within metres of Nightingale, and you're better off going to one of them. This experience was sub-par for the Hunter Valley. The positives are the wine (which is reasonably priced and of high standard), and the friendliness of the staff.

Average overpriced food. Terrible service and overall a disappointing lunch. $36 for a lamb rague with no flavour is a bit rich. The two wait staff were very unprofessional. One was severely hung over and almost spilt drinks all over people. The venue looks out across the beautiful vineyards, however that is the only positive about this establishment. It is very clear to me that the only thing keeping this venue afloat is the customer overflow from Margans across the road. Wouldn't bother trying again.

We were neglected under the verandah, table was never set, no water offered. Had to chase up menus, after 40 minutes we'd had just a glass of wine into a set menu Two Course lunch. Bread never came out at all. Mains were identical except for the meat. Signature Chicken was dry and missing the sauce. All apologies at the end of meal and just the reassurance that we should have complained earlier.

We never actually ate here. We had booked online for breakfast. Signs here say it should be open. There are no staff on-site. There's a couple here who stayed at the accommodation and need to hit the road but don't know how to return the keys if there's nobody to collect them. We waited nearly half an hour, then left. Pretty hungry about now, though...

We did the wine tasting and had dinner. Lovely experience and they were really good with our baby. We'd definitely recommend it and are looking forward to drinking our wine at home.

Came for the wine tasting and we’re not disappointed. Greeted by the owner who was super friendly and lovely to talk too. The view is spectacular looking out at the Brokenback Ranges.
