Shocked at the service. Collecting a takeaway for the first time ever and i may as well have been invisible. Standing for 10-15 minutes at the reservation desk by the front door. 5 members of staff, not one acknowledgement. Oh they looked at me. Obviously straight though me though. Nothing. Not even a smile. Standing like a lemon waiting to be seen to. Then I ther customers came in and went straight to the counter and was served before myself even though they knew I was there and waiting. Now I’m convinced I’m invisible. Only to find out there was an ‘unsigned’ designated area for takeaway collection, where food was sitting on a shelf only to get cold. I won’t be back. I’ve never written a bad review in my life. Yet this deserved it

I recently visited Hathi Indian Restaurant in Alexandra Headland and was pleasantly surprised by the nice vibe there. The food was delicious and made for a great celebration of my mother's birthday. Although I've only been there once, I would definitely recommend giving it a try

Hathi Indian Restaurant
The best Indian experience we have ever had. We ordered chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh with rice, the lamb was chunky and full of flavour, with plenty of meat. The chicken was delicious, full of flavour and a lot of meat in the dish. This is the place to go if you're looking for a place to eat on the Sunshine Coast. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.

The staff are very good. It’s some dishes with Indian names. I think the owner and the employees of the restaurant never eat there lol that’s how tasteless it is. Not worth your money and time. To all those who eat here “THIS IS NOT HOW INDIAN FOOD TASTES” People who just want to fill up their stomach without wanting to know the real taste of Indian food can eat here

This is the second time in a row that I've been disappointed with my takeaway and it'll probably be my last time there.I always order a hot chicken madras and the last two pick ups may as well have chicken in gravy, literally no heat at all.There are plenty of other Indian restaurants on the Coast nowadays, so I'll be taking my custom elsewhere.

Have been here for several times and I love their food. However, it has been few months since last time I ordered takeaway from them. I wonder if they have new chefs in the kitchen. Today, I ordered two curries( chicken Jal-Frezi and lamb Saagwala) takeaway with 2 Naans( chicen&cheese andmasala) and pappadums. The curries are still hot and excellent as always, but disappointed with the rest. It is only 5 minutes drive to my place. The pappadums are cold and soggy; both of the naans are cold and very chewy. Even the filling is missing, they taste like one cheese naan and one plan naan.

Food was nice and well presented.My issue is with their robust refusal to understand that the sandwich board outside the shop is deceptive. It offers a family special for $88, but after you are seated and ask for that, they advise that it is for take-away only, something the signage doesn't mention. Regrettably this disagreement dominated the dining experience and hence this review.The OTHER side of the board DOES say takeaway for a different special, but not both. If you approached the shop from the south and never saw the other side, you'd only see this offer which says nothing about takeway.First the waitress argued that the sign DID say Takeaway (it doesn't), then the girl at the bar wanted to justify it, then even the manager couldn't grasp that this was 'deceptive and misleading', only being interested in establishing that I was aware it was only for takeaway BEFORE I placed my order, and I chose to stay, so what's the problem.He is either totally clueless, or totally aware but refusing to concede, and will just keep this practice in place because he knows that once somebody is seated and decided what they want to eat, few people will get up and leave, they will take it on the chin. Nonetheless, deceptive either way.Being treated like I'm an idiot by a conman and his staff isn't cool. We won't be back.

Excellent tasting food and a large menu to select from. We dined in and were the first table for the night, but still had to wait 40 minutes despite lots of takeaway coming through. If you want people to dine in, you need to be mindful of them please. Will be back.

I haven't been here for a couple of years, used to love the outdoor area with the water feature, which sadly isn't used anymore.We booked for a 6.30pm seating and although only one other table was occupied, we were placed next to the counter and traffic to kitchen. It was very loud, bright and not private for a couple on a night out.It took 50 mins for our food to arrive, after having to ask 40mins in.The phones rang constantly, for a very long time, at a very loud volume.If there isn't any intention to answer them then turn them down or put them on hold.This is very unprofessional to have seated guests put up with this.It was evident that your take away were more important, with many casually dressed user drivers and take away ordering guests standing around the inside of the restaurant. It is not cold outside and would be better for your dining guests to have them wait outside or provide a seating area. As there were many empty tables (space to put seating).Would be good if your booking site allowed guests to chose the table they want also.I would not recommend Hathi to anyone any more.Besides that the food was good, but there is better.
