Dr Colin Priestland - Townsville Wisdom teeth removal, Dental Implants

This cowboy operated on a few close friends of mine (both had negative experiences) and left parts of her wisdom teeth inside the gum. Then she developed an infection, he never prescribed antibiotics immieadiatly after the surgery. Then after a week of surgery an infection took and he only then prescribed. 2 weeks after prescribing we went back in to find he had left parts of tooth which was found through an X-ray. He said he could clean the infection and take the remaining tooth out for free. We declined and sort a second opinion as we felt that he had made a few to many errors.Second opinion and then more antibiotics and surgery cleared the infection without losing the nerve.This dentist shouldn't be practicing. We reported him to the medical board and found he had several complaints against him but he's still doing dodgy work.This is our personal experience and we think basic duty of care was neglected and we were 4000$ out of pocket for a botched dental procedure.

Got all of my wisdom teeth out through him since he came highly recommended by my friend who is a dentist that got her own wisdom teeth taken out by him. I think that alone says a lot about him. My friend also mentioned that a lot of complex cases would get referred to him. Mine wasn't that bad, but I thought skilled hands wouldn't hurt since this is my first time and honestly quite nervous. He is a very friendly, caring, honest, and extremely skilled dental surgeon that's been practicing dentistry longer than I have been alive for. Price for my procedure was also very reasonable and affordable. I got it done in the chair without sedation. It was great. Usually local anesthetics would be the most painful part during the procedure (according to Dr Google), but he did it so well that I barely felt it. Everyone would have a different experience in terms of recovery, but for me, it's been very minimal swelling and pain free without any heavy pain killer on the day after my surgery. Very pleased with how everything turned out so far.Go to him, seriously, you won't regret it. Would give him 10 stars out of 5 if I could.

I cannot rate Dr Priestland or his staff highly enough. I have a genuine fear of the dental chair; Dr Priestland is so gentle and kind and is starting to help me overcome my fear. I would recommend Dr Priestland to anyone that wants expert care provided by a genuine compassionate and caring professional!
