Stangate House and Garden
Spectacular Camelia garden set amongst tall trees and a creek. The house was not open for visitors on the day we visited due to COVID-19, but the grounds are well worth the time to explore.

Large collection of beautiful camellias. During September, when the spring flowers are at their peak, it is open every Sunday. Our family has made it an annual event for many years. The national trust members serve home made soup, sweets, tea and coffee in a heritage cottage. Such a lovely hills outing.

The camillia and I believe 2nd largest oak tree in southern hemisphere was very impressive. The National Trust care takers taking pride in proper gating and caring for spices of camelliasgrown over 100years ago. A delight to wander through topped off with a lovely lunch of cut sandwiches and culpa or morning/afternoon tea. These volunteers do an amazing job. I was pleased to support there efforts

A delightful garden with many deciduous trees, including what is considered to be the second largest oak tree in Australia. Autumn colours reward those who visit in late April. Lawns and perennial borders add variety and colour. Camellias are in abundance, tended by the local Camellia Society.

There was an open day with a sculpture exhibition that gave us the chance to look inside. The gardens are more spectacular when the camellias are in full bloom, still a nice place.

Aldgate house and garden with history. Big old trees, creek with banks of laid stones and little bridges, camellias, rhododendrons and magnolias in abundance. Sunday afternoon amble.
