I had the pleasure of obtaining my HR road ranger accreditation and all lessons being with Simon!Simon is a professional and well versed instructor. You can see the passion he carry’s for the work he does. He is a genuinely nice person and knows how to make the whole experience as stress free as possible! I can’t recommend him enough!Gemma was a pleasure to speak with and book everything through! Even rescheduling wasn’t an issue when needed!The whole experience with Ian Watsons Truck Driving School was amazing and I will definitely be coming back for further professional development.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCEI took lessons for my HC licence with Simon.I found the lessons unsupportive, abusive & stressful. I will be taking lessons to obtain my MC license with an alternate company who offer instructors with experience in driving heavy vehicles.

I have used these guys to get my MR a few years ago and just last week I did my HR Auto. I was very happy with my experience with all the crew. Scott was my instructor for the license, very knowledgeable and consistent with the training he delivered.

“Avoid Scott at all times” I read in the reviews i a agree with this comment thanks BF Avoid this bloke at all costs. All we did was argue I wasn’t gonna let him put me down and get away with it. I’m pretty sure the other instructors are ok but this Scott guy was unbelievable “AVOID AT ALL TIMES” This one star review is for him not the business itself coz I can only speak on my experience with this individual.

I would like to thank Ian’s team for their professional approach in training me to gain my HR licence.I had 3 instructors throughout my training and found each of them offered something uniquely different. Remember, you are there to learn. Leave your ego at the door and accept the advice that comes your way.I would particularly like to acknowledge Simon for his passion and patience in working with me in those last couple of training sessions and in calling me out when needed and encouraging me to a successful end.For anyone looking for a challenge, the HR Roadranger will give you all that you need. If you are new to the game, like me, and are considering the training package be prepared to book an extra lesson to hone your skills before the test.

Avoid booking lessons with Scott if possible. I always left extremely stressed, upset and tense after lessons.But I ended up getting my license thanks to the great training from Alex and Jeremy. Alex was very calming and easy to chat to, and Jeremy made me feel very comfortable and relaxed on the day of my test. They both had a much better approach to teaching. I wish I had have had my lessons with Alex or Jeremy from the beginning.

Jeremy and Simon are great instructors, patient and consistent with their instructions. Passed my HR Test on the RoadRanger first time. Highly recommend. Thanks Gents!

If you wanna learn how to drive a truck, you should come here. My instructor was Simon. Simon taught me many valuable lessons to apply to my driving and showed me his passion for road safety. He’s honest, polite & humble.I am eternally grateful for the lessons he taught me. He was calm, collected and this made the energy in the cab calm.I could not have passed my HR test without him. He basically taught me from the ground up how to drive manual transmission (Yes I'm crazy, I converted from CA to HR) and applying that to Road Ranger.One thing I noticed that Simon does is he believes you can do it. This really changes your mindset as the instructor directly influences the confidence levels, anxiety levels and overall smoothness of the lesson. Clearly an outstanding educator & instructor.Shout out to Gemma for sorting any booking issues I had, and shout out to Jeremy for being a part of my learning as well. Also shout out to the GW400 truck for putting up with my bad gear changes. I'll be back for HC!

I recently upgraded to an LR license and had a pleasant experience with the school. The staff were lovely and patient with me as I learnt. I would 100% recommend this school to anyone wanting to upgrade!
