I strongly recommend not booking accommodation through Great Ocean Road Holidays (including indirectly through Air BnB).We booked a property called Sands End in Wye River, we arrived and the whole house was in the middle of a renovation and was a construction site - tools and building equipment everywhere and all furniture was packed away.We spent about an hour trying to contact Great Ocean Road Holidays. To their credit, they arranged alternative accommodation. However, it was in an inferior location and had one less room, which meant one of our party was forced to sleep on the couch. We had also wasted a whole afternoon of our holiday at this point. Nevertheless, we said we were fine with the alternative accommodation (because there weren't any other options) and tried to enjoy the rest of our trip.I checked the price for the alternative accommodation and noticed it was cheaper. Accordingly when dropping off the keys I raised this and was told that the difference would be refunded. After a few weeks not hearing anything I contacted Matt from Great Ocean Road Holidays who refused to refund the difference. I've since followed up twice more and haven't heard anything.I wanted to give them the chance to refund my money before leaving a review but, having not heard anything for a number of weeks, I'm now more concerned about directing other people away from this business.Don't book though these people - there's every chance they'll ruin your holiday and/or try to hold onto money which isn't theirs.

Don’t recommend the rental service.Accommodation itself was great. Location was great too.However arrived to find someone else’s laundry at the front door as well as other peoples clothes in the house.Spiders and spider webs everywhere. Other peoples hair on duna cover and looked like it hadn’t even been washed with a yellow stain at the bottom.It was advised before booking however believe it poor that linen and towels aren’t included. No conditioner was provided. Wood for fireplace that was meant to be included soaked.They state in their pre arrival email please don’t leave a scathing review.. but why not just lift your standards and provide better service? We paid handsomely for the rental and travel often so know what a clean rental accommodation is meant to look like. I would recommend the owners use a different rental service.

Great Ocean Road Holidays
The lovely staff at Great Ocean Road Holidays went out of their way to make sure our holiday to Wye River was fantastic. They we very friendly and had stacks of advice on things to do on the Great Ocean Rd and the Otways. The kids had a ball exploring all the things the area has to offer. The accommodation was clean and well presented with a beautiful view overlooking the beach. Thanks to the wonderful staff Great Ocean Road Holidays. We'll definitely be back

Subject: Terrible experience from host Great Ocean Road Holidays.We have stayed at 4 Anderson Court, Lorne, VIC from 23th to 25th. On the first day, we noticed that the downstairs room (for 4 guests) and the kitchen were not cleaned. There were spiders and other species + dust everywhere on the bed, pillows, and bed sheets.In short, we could not sleep there, so we took two bed sheets from there and slept in the living room, as we could not move huge bed sheet upstairs. Two guests, including me, spent a whole night in the car.I sent pictures and messages to the host at 10:16 PM. I heard nothing from them at 10:30 AM the next day. Therefore, I called them and explained our situation.I gave two options. 1) Please give us another house or 2) Give a refund. (I also suggest coming and visiting the place).After half an hour, they called me back and said that they could give me a full refund if I left the house right now. I am shocked because we were eight guests we had planned our holidays for a long time ago and now we are in this situation. I told them I did not want to leave; please provide another house; we could not stay here. One representative came from the Great Ocean Road holidays, and they have seen that we are facing a real problem.She told us she would send a cleaner and ask the owner to give compensation.We have not heard anything from her until the next day. We checked out at 11:00 AM and went to the Great Ocean Road holidays office to drop off the keys. Another terrible experience is waiting for us.The staff member, I do not want to disclose her name. When I explained her situation, her first question was, “ARE YOU RECORDING OUR CONVERSATION,” That was so rude. In addition, after that, she took the key from us very rudely and told us its a public holiday, we have not received any reply from the owner. Now, it is more than 2 weeks and no response form host.

Woeful management of our rental property. I would not recommend them. Left dirty linen at our house for weeks at a time, multiple times we arrived home after bookings and the house hadn't been cleaned. All round bad communication.

Great Ocean Road Holidays
We have had planned this great holiday with my family but ended up having to clean the first day we arrived and felt somewhat disgusted when sleeping in the beds.Firstly when we arrived, we thought he keys to the property would be somewhere close by but after checking google maps it was a 30mins drive away... we then got in contact with someone and we're provided with the emergency key but had been told that this was in the email provided to us.When we finally entered the property it was smelly, cold and dirty. None of the beds had linen on which I have then read in another email from you guys (I have in total received 7 emails with different information regarding my booking, which I guess added to the confusion).This is think could be send in a msg, as it is quiet important information, with the info about the Key collection!!!!The bed were covered with Matress covers which were stained and then when we removed the covers the Matress itself was also stained.The toilet smelled disgusting and was resting on the tiles. No screws to attach it to the floor, it felt like it was wriggling while sitting on the toilet.In the bathroom the shower curtain had mold on the bottom of the curtain and the shower curtain rod was completely rusted. The shower head sprays the whole bathroom while having a shower as well.All doors are stuck in someway and are so hard to open that we left all doors open at all times. In fact one door knob nearly came off and left some of my family member trapped in a room for a few minutes...The trundle bed (which we had to use as we were 8 people, as booked) were completely dusty when pulled out.The BBQ was black and crusty.The some upstairs was completely stained from one end to the other.As a whole the outside and inside of the property were covered in spider webs.I have pictures of all of these issues mentioned and will send those to you as well.I feel like other people need to be aware of the issues with this property. Do not recommend.Accomodation was amazing (Vantage Point) but service from Great Ocean Road Holidays is rude and appalling.We were charged a bond of $1000 and despite there being no damage, they are refusing to return it.The amount paid was verbally confirmed by a staff member as including a bond amount, but we were not provided an invoice for our payment so have no record of this.Despite numerous attempts to sort out this issue, we were simply dismissed.This matter is currently being raised with Consumer Affairs Victoria.Unless you want to lose your bond amount, I highly recommend you steer clear of this business and book through a more reputable company.
