Friendly staff, broken real-estate model. Horizon staff are lovely but appear to be overworked. Their company model is broken resulting in terrible service, if any service at all. Broken contracts by not inspecting houses for nearly 1 year, no notice that your tenant is vacating; I had to find out via the statement that they were vacating the next day, no support to vacating tenants (not everybody is real-estate savvy), etc! How can an office in Robina support tenants and land lords in North Brisbane? It's impossible to provide the personal service needed that only a local agent. As a non-profit organisation, your hearts are in the right place but your fees are excessive and your service fails to meet industry standards. You should out-source some roles to local agents. I’ve never formalised a complaint to an agent, until now. Horizon, please don't provide your automated response regarding your service, I’d prefer no response at all.

I have been renting through Horizon for 3 or so years now after the owners of our house changed agents (thank goodness they did!). My property manager, Tess, has been professional, efficient, friendly and pleasant. If there are any maintenance issues they are dealt with swiftly. I highly recommend Horizon Housing.

Had a really great experience with Horizon housing the leasing team were fantastic at the house viewings giving us advice and also suggesting other properties in the area to view that same day! Our property manager is so friendly and understanding too very approachable. We are so happy with our new place it's our first family home thanks again for all the help.

Quite possibly the worst and most unprofessional experience I have had with a real estate agent in my 20 years of renting.None of the staff know what any other staff are doing at any one time.Claimed full bond BEFORE inspections were done.Found, consistently, new and different items to be cleaned upon each inspection. Bond cleaners were sent through twice.Refused to refund any bond, despite house being clean. Claimed they had to send through their OWN bond cleaner at close to a thousand dollars. This cleaner was sent through two weeks after they had put in a new tenant.Had zero actual photo evidence to back their claims - the photos of the house being 'unclean' were from the INITIAL inspection. Horizon had no idea the agent had told myself and RTA they would not be claiming the bond, while telling their company and the landlords they would.Provided evidence of this, as I always keep emails (and you should too when dealing with Horizon! Always deal in emails! Keep the proof!), and they backflipped faster than an acrobat on acid - but it took 3 months and an RTA mediator to get to that point as they refused to answer any emails or phone calls or return messages.Do not, I repeat, do NOT trust this RA at all. Document everything. Keep EVERY email. Make sure you photograph every single corner and crevasse when you leave. If you need to correspond with them, do not do it by phone, only ever do it by email so you can keep 100% track of conversations. You will need it when you leave. Ensure you document every single last piece of damage done to the property prior to moving in, and copy your entry report and store it in a safe place, as they refused to provide me with one when I left.

Good luck trying to ever get a problem resolved with this company! Have made request after request to have maintenance issues resolved, very rarely ever get sorted out. No return phone calls and have been given a bill for over $1000 for my first property for damages I never did! Lucky for photos is all I can say! Yeah they might help u get affordable housing when times are tough but the property I have now is not anywhere up to qld standards! I have mould growing EVERYWHERE I just can't maintain it, insulation issues and my walls have massive cracks at the top of ceiling and in my bedroom my walls are now leaking stuff that runs down my wall! But when i ring to speak to a housing co ordinator Wade thinks he's the one who runs the show and refuses to put the call through, I'm infuriated by the lack of care this company provides to long term tenants. Apparently this is a maintenance issue even though I've asked to speak with someone I know regards to possibly moving and again it's only noted as a maintenance issue that will never be resolved. The receptionists at this company need a reality check because it's not them who maintain the housing and should try to endeavour to help not argue with you about the issues a tenant has! DISGUSTING.

The best organization I have dealt with. Patsy is the most beautiful person, she goes above and beyond in her work. I love our apartment it's the nicest place I've lived in. I highly recommend. I hope to stay with Horizon because it's fantastic. I'd give 10 stars if I could.

We were model tenants & never in 30 years of renting have we had such a worse experience. The property manager was a bully and we had to jump through hoops to get repairs carried out. The property manager put her own power ahead of my daughters health and complaints are not taken seriously. We have 24 pages of lies , intimidation and entering our home without our knowledge or consent and I am sure the Directors or the owners don't know what happened. Our rent was always paid in advance and we kept our home clean and tidy and damage free. I will get the same reply now as everybody else who wrote a bad review, but it means nothing to them. Just glad to be rid of them but this horrendous experience will scar us emotionally & financially for a very long time. (Response 31/03/2017 - I have already emailed / called, latest email dated 15th March but it is just getting ignored, if you are serious about investigating you should have replied my emails)

Horizon Housing have been an absolute godsend to my son and I. We were both suffering allergies and living in an overpriced and very run down, old apartment with very little light and air. Just before Christmas we were approved for a brand new duplex with Horizon Housing and we moved in immediately. It has been such a relief to have affordable and comfortable housing for my family. The staff were also warm and friendly. I have found the service to be outstanding. We are extremely grateful for our Horizon Home.

DON'T PAY YOUR LAST FOUR WEEKS OF RENT, IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO GET YOUR BOND BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!When we moved in the house was dirty, had knee high grass & had rubbish dumped in the back yard. After cleaning all of this up & keeping good care of the garden ect we lived there for 18 months.We were always ahead on our rent. The ONLY time we were behind was when my son was born we paid rent 1 DAY LATE. I remember taking a call after I had already paid rent WHEN I WAS STILL IN HOSPITAL due to my son being born. My property manager Jan Snowden threatened to kick me out of the house because rent was one day late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!When we left the property, it was in much better condition than when we moved in. Our new property manager Carolina Marquez did the property inspection and gave us a MASSIVE list of things to clean and fix, most of them being problems that were there when we moved in such a oil stains on the garage floor" or "Scuffs on the kitchen ceiling" or "marks on the wall" . We came back and fixed all of the problems as best we could. Despite this they emailed us a new MASSIVE list of different problems that were not on their first list

my experience with horizon has been a very pleasing one,we have been with them for five years so far and have never had a negative outcome.all the property managers and office staff we have dealt with couldn't be more pleasant and helpful.
