First time trying African cuisine, but I was blown away at how tasty everything was. The staff was super polite and welcoming. Would definetly come here again, despite it being a bit pricey.

I don’t really have words to describe the experience I had at this restaurant. You’ll never have a better plate of food in your damn life, I am now a Cameroonian CHEERLEADER!!!! Everything was full of flavour and clearly cooked with love. Love the outdoor seating and Afro beats and the owner is an incredible woman with a lot of personality - will be bringing the whole fam and some back next time!!! Thankyou Vola foods ❤️

One of the best places serving West African soul food, more specifically Cameroonian food. I and my friend had the Borning Fish ($40), Hot and Sweet Wings ($10), Fried Plantains ($10), Puff Puff ($10) and soft drinks ($8). One of my favourites is the fried plantains, which are so delicious. The roasted fish was great, the wings were one of the best I have ever had. I also had the opportunity to have their famous Jollof rice with fried chicken and plantains, which was an absolute banger!Ashley, who is the founder is an amazing chef who brings her culture and culinary skills to create amazing dishes like these. I wished there was a place in the city as well. Nonetheless, this is a great place to be!

I ordered the Box for two (share platter). Good variety and the food was tasty. The portions were about right. The staff was friendly and polite. I’ll be back to try out their other menu items.

Ash and her staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming! Made a huge order and all who tried the food had nothing but good things to say. I highly recommend! Probably the most under appreciated cuisine in Melbourne

Really flavourful and decadent food!!1. We got the Jollof with the lot - the tangy tomato stew complemented the jollof rice perfectly!! The cassava chips (made me cry) and plantains added a beautiful textural bite to the dish. Would go back just for them. The BBQ suya was perfectly smoked - but was a bit on the chewier/tougher side. The chicken was delicious but could’ve done with a bit more marination so the flavour could’ve been steeped in the meaty part instead of just the skin/surface. Overall though, still a solid meal (8/10) that I would go back for - even at a fairly hefty $31.2. We also got the fufu with Lamb stew. This was hands down some of the best fufu I’ve have in Melbourne. The Lamb Stew was a bit oily, but damn it packed a punch and was suuuuper delicious. (7.5/10).The venue is also such a vibe - music blasting, outdoor seating - ideal summer sitch. Ashley was super lovely (and so was the new employee she was training!). Absolutely recommend if you’re up north and in the mood for a hearty meal.

Fantastic food, amazing quality and flavour, generous serves. Friendly service from lovely staff too. Cannot wait to visit again. (Vegan 6 meal pictured but the meat dishes are awesome too - just didn’t have any pictures of those)

Hidden gem in the heart of Brunswick. Delicious Cameroon dishes, mouthwatering, cooked and served well. A delight for the taste buds. Friendly service, great music, cool relaxed vibe. Not often I insist… but I insist. You have to try this place!
