Ask for Augi and Emma. They are awesome guides to great powder, great food, and great onsen! No need to know the language since they do all the arranging and ordering as needed. They were fun to be with and truly seemed to enjoy taking us around the south Hokkaido tour. Super fun ski vacation.

Did the Hokkaido Explorer Tour feb 5-16. Cannot say enough good things about the experience. The Japow was something else. Mind totally blown. Our Lead Guide Taneli made this vacation a fabulous experience. His assistant guides Scotty, Alex and Jordan all went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and ensure our safety. The personal attention paid by Taneli made this trip an overwhelming success. The Whiteroom staff were attentive in all the planning and helped me recover a lost jacket during the trip. All around great job with this touring company. The snow, the food and the exposure to the culture is something I will remember for my lifetime.

Whiteroom runs a pretty complete operation. For novice back country skiing, they provide a thorough and knowledgeable guiding experience.A weakness was the accommodations, but I didn't see a lot of alternatives around. I would have preferred being less out-of-town.There was about as much boot packing as I could handle. Same goes for long, strenuous run-outs. Minimizing the latter would be the first place to rethink some runs, especially for riders.Considering the clientele was largely affluent, better accommodations would be preferred, even at higher cost. For 8 days of skiing, it was bargain basement cheap.

whiteroom busted my expectations. if i could give them a 10 out of 5 i would. everything was perfect. things were easy and i could really feel like our guides were doing everything so we could have the BEST experience. they went above and beyond. mission accomplished whiteroom. you do give the best japan tours.

Did the Central Hokkaido tour with Greg this year. He was a really down to earth guide with clearly a lot of experience in both guiding tours and knowledge of the ski runs across all resorts. Guiding us with clear instructions as to what to expect before each run with excellent descriptions made each run safe and allowed us to get the most enjoyable experience out of the runs. Rooms were big and comfortable, bus connections were easy, plus having some organised meals in the evenings was great. Will book in again next year for sure!

I’ve been on two of the Whiteroom guided tours and both were exceptional from start to finish. All guides are extremely experienced, with a strong focus on safety … and finding the best powder! As as a solo female traveller I felt very included and well looked after. If you are looking for a top level company for your next Japan snow adventure Whiteroom is the one you should pick!

The 2023 Sky to sea tour was fantastic as always. This was my 5th tour with Whiteroom and definitely not the last one. Whiteroom is professional, knowledgeable, safe and, most of all, great fun. Every tour has been memorable. They will always find Japow , even in 'bad' years we always skied fresh powder most days. This year was spectacular!! Thank you Whiteroom and all the excellent professional and dedicated guides and support workers.

Fantastic ski guiding and tour guiding in a wonderful area with very few tourists (Tohuku). Would love to go aback again some time. Was a wonderful experience made even better by the Whiteroom team. If you have ever wanted to ski in Japan, GO!! And go with Whiteroom Tours. Highly recommended.

We had a brilliant time skiing in south Hokkaido a few weeks ago, both as part of a Powder Progression tour group (made up of friends) with Nathan, then for some extra days in Rusutsu for two of us, with Nathan as our guide. Whiteroom made the tour a seamless hassle free experience, with Nathan as our personable and very experienced Scot guide. Each morning he would come up with the best prospects of where to ski, taking in account of the snow and weather. His command of Japanese was invaluable especially in restaurants. Apart from occasionally digging us out of the snow. Nathan also took care of the issues that turn up on a ski tour e.g. my need to replace boots and also a case of mixed up skis. Nathan was great company but it was the powder, of course, which made this 2023 trip so memorable. I don't hesitate at giving Whiteroom Guides 5 of 5 stars. However, there is no better recommendation than the fact that some of us are already planning for the 2023 2024 ski season with Whiteroom.

Sky to sea tour was a great experience. Alex, Scottie, Liam and Blackie had extensive knowledge of ski areas, were all personable who led the group in some fantastic skiing. The hotel accommodation arranged was very good and I would recommend the tour and the company to anyone wanting to experience skiing in Japan.
