King Island (Conservation Park)
Such a wonderful place to see lots of marine life on low tide. My children loved exploring in the mangroves and seeing the crabs and jellyfish and lots of other beautiful sea plant life.

Finally got to walk over to the island. Amazing views. Just watch the tide. Low tide you can walk, but high tide you swim.

One of my favourite walks in Brissy, seems to change each time I go, also scenery and wildlife changes depending if you go on rising or lowering tide. The island is only accessible at low tide but the route is available for several hours. Seen osprey hunting fish and rays as the tide is retreating and seen swarms of crabs as well. Plenty of birds to spot and aquatics if you don’t mind getting your feet wet.Few mangroves I haven't explored yet and it is on the fishing list. Plenty of arm chair fisherman on the walk up and a few waders at the tip.Barefoot can be a bit sharp on the feet with rocks and broken shells.

Kayaked out here multiple times and walked to and from the point hundreds more. King Island has always been an awesome place to visit of an afternoon, even if its a small sand bar. If you enjoy beautiful sunsets and the calm ocean, you'll love this place

King Island (Conservation Park)
A nice little island, an easy 1km walk each way (but only at low tide) from Wellington Point. It’s a conservation park but dogs are allowed. There are thousands of crabs on the beach and lots of bird life.Note apart from a few information signs there are no facilities on the island (but Wellington Point has toilets, showers, cafe, etc) and pay attention to the tide times!

A very charming island. Perfect place for a day out and a nice walk. The place is very interesting from a naturalistic and environmental point of view, personally this was the reason why I went there, but it's a really nice place also from a landscape and photography point of view. We need conservation parks like this, to always marvel at the beauty of nature, to preserve it and to educate the little ones. Enjoy this amazing place.

It's always a lovely walk out to King Island from Wellington Point along the sand bar at low tide. Did this with my parents as a child in the 1950's and at various times through the years. Easy walk with views of Moreton Bay and the coastline from Wellington Point through to Wynnum.

Nice walk to king island - on the day we went we were lucky to see a small shark (about a metre long) swimming just off the shore near the island.
