Considering the name and price I had higher expectations of the food, but it was just ok. The service and the atmosphere were great though.

SUPERB! Flawless service, ambience and meals. The food was to die for. We ordered beef eye fillets - one of the best we had in a long-long time - which came impeccably presented with potato gratin, cherry tomatoes, green beans and crispy tempura batter onion rings, and drizzled with a scrumptious green peppercorn sauce (which I would have loved a tablespoonful more of). The dessert ingredients were meticulously paired and were an out of body experience - our taste buds were doing backflips. While we didn’t have any cocktails, we could see a lot of other tables had them and that it must have been their speciality. Also enjoyed reading the history and looking at the photos on the wall. Cannot wait to go back and try other dishes!P.S. I must commend the waitstaff on Wed night - they were very attentive yet not intrusive, highly knowledgeable, made wonderful yet delicate suggestions, and felt like they really were adding value to the experience. The food came out pretty fast given the restaurant was about 70% full.

Food was Absolutely delicious. Everyones meals were to die for. Such a great vibe and lovely decor. Briony was an amazing waitress - service was perfect. All round an amazing experience.

Exceptional food and dining experience. Ambience of the restaurant is spot on and the service was great. Excellent food choices and wine selection (as well as the cocktails). Staff were welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend.

What started as a great night soon turned into a nightmare. I visited with my extended family for Dinner. The atmosphere was fantastic, along with the wine and cocktails.After ordering at 6.45, the cocktails took some time to come out. When the wine turned up, we asked our waitress not to pour as we wanted to drink our cocktails first. Then she just poured a full glass of wine before reminding her of our request.Our starters came out fairly quickly but were missing the sough dough bread. We asked twice, but it didn't arrive. The person in the black shirt (assuming he is the manager) went to the kitchen and promptly brought the bread out and mentioned it was there waiting to be sent to the table.The starters were delicious, but the fishcake was dry.We waited around 1 hour and 15 minutes for the mains. The beef dishes were given to the wrong people and were just warm, the salad was wilted, and chips for the children were missing. It took some time to get our waitress's attention for more cocktails, so we did bother ordering. And also she was too busy to take a family picture (the first time this has happened ever)Given the time, half of the family had to rush and leave to get the kids home to bed.We did give feedback which was noted, and we were compensated for the salad, but essentially, the whole meal and experience were ruined.I definitely will not go back.

Staff were perfect. Always pleasant and always there to help you. Atmosphere of a top class restaurant. Had the Sour Dough with anchovy butter. Sour Dough was very nice. Anchovy butter needed more anchovies, was a bit weak. Main I had the Monk Fish. Fish & Mushrooms cooked perfectly. Pesto was great. But the Mash Potato was grainy, as though it was from the night before. Did not have that freshness. For sweets I had the Rhubarb and Amaretto Cake - perfect. Wow was it nice. Also great Coffee.

Very disappointing given other reviews I had read. French Onion Soup was not at all enjoyable, over seasoned, far too much cheese and was spilt all down the sides of the serving bowl and served with a dessert spoon! Olive oil served with bread was tasteless, long wait time for each course. The Orange Roughy was the saving grace and the room is truly beautiful. Great cocktail lounge that I’d go to again but wouldn’t return to the Peacock Room sadly.

Wow, our pert of 4 lived our brunch at The Peacock Room. Kendall was absolutely outstanding and the food and drinks delicious. Great value… we’ll come back in summer and stay overnight next time so we can enjoy the pool cocktail bar!

Classy fine dining restaurant with old school retro feel. The souffle entree was excellent, as was the duck confit main. Our friends had the Tiger Prawn Boullabaise which was really good (order envy!). Fine wine selection with generous pours. Emma was a friendly and attentive host/server. Great experience overall. Will def come back.

The venue was beautiful but almost too many tables packed into the dining room as even the waiters struggled to get past the tables.Every dish was overly salted, we were a party of four and every one of us found too much salt in the food.
