Alpha Appliance Repairs

Had used them in the past and was very satisfied with the work done. This time we had the technician out for the big callout fee and he took a few photos of the cracked dishwasher handle and the lower spray arm that keeps popping out. We were told that we would receive a quote for the parts and the labour would be minimal. After 4 days I had to ring them, and as I see many reviewers had the same experience with the person on the phone, condescending and evasive. He had to call me back, only to say that because my unit was too old there was no chance I could get the replacement handle, and the price of the spray arm was prohibitively large, and that we should buy a new dishwasher - they didn't even take my model number! So unprofessional. After the call I went to Google, found a place that had both the parts for my exact model and at a very reasonable price. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND WOULD ADVISE EVERYONE TO READ THESE REVIEWS.

I used to get spare parts for various appliances from this company for over 20 years. However, this time was a big disappointment for me. The technician was very slow in examining the stove and seemed to have limited knowledgeable of how to fix one blocked burner. After several failed attempts, he gave up and charged me extra time for putting parts back.

Worse than useless. Our fridge stopped working while we were overseas and we arranged for one of their technicians to come out. They didn’t fix it, but charged us over $200. When we returned to a stinking house a few days later we were able to identify the problem - a tripped fuse. The fridge is working fine, though we were up half the night stripping it’s contents and cleaning it. Read the reviews.

Today I received excellent service from Shane who spoke honestly frankly, and openly about the charges associated with a dishwasher callout fee. I’m very impressed and thankful for Shane‘s honesty and professionalism.

Terrible manner of the receptionist, very unhelpful advice leading to the same problem with my appliance again. Would not honour warranty. Bringing it elsewhere this time.

This is based on my experience with LG microwave:The microwave became faulty. I called LG customer service for fixing and they introduced this store to me and was told if the issue is from manufacturer the store will fix it for me with no cost and if the store technician recognises the issue is due to customer wrong use then I have to pay out of pocket which the outcome was manufacturer faulty part and the store fixed it at no cost to me.The store team communication was great via sms which kept me posted with progress of fixing. The reception was fine.Overall I had no hassle experience with my LG microwave by this store.

our 1 year old LG microwave (still under warranty) wasn't working so we put it into alpha for warranty repair, paid $55. they couldn't find a fault, so did no repairs, we took it home and it still didn't work. So then I took it to LG and they found that the magnetron was faulty and they repaired it. Alpha failed to identify or fix our microwave, they said they did extensive tests but couldn't find an issue. paid $55 for nothing. I wish I didn't take it to them, waste of time and money. avoid this business.

The man who answered the phone was incredibly rude and condescending. We live in Surry Hills, and said he would be very reluctant to take on a job that doesn't have any private parking". I said that they would be able to find street parking and he said "No. Good luck finding anyone who will take on this job if you don't have private parking." and hung up.The quote was $165 for the first 30 mins of assessments and then $33 every 10 mins after that.HIGHLY WOULDN'T RECOMMEND. I'm not sure why LG recommended them."

Front loader broke down mid cycle. I Rang today to book a service, the receptionist walked me through a potential filter issue and how to find a tutorial on you tube (7 years old and didn’t know that needed cleaning) problem solved. Thank you

I am so angry at myself that only after having the used this company and having the most horrific experience did I read their reviews!It seems that all Service Manager Shane’s negative reviews on Facebook and google reviews are 100% spot on, he was rude, aggressive and argumentative.After being in real estate for 18 years, so I’ve dealt with my fair share of rude people, I’ve dealt with hundreds of tradies in my time but Shane from takes out the number 1 position of being the most rude and arrogant person I have come across.Check out how they respond to the negative reviews and it will give you a good taste in how their company works.Avoid this company at all cost, their 1 star reviews speak for themselves
