Genesta House Bed & Breakfast

Our group of 4 and a little one (who was kindly accommodated) were extremely impressed by Simonne and Genesta House. It was a perfect little getaway, with a beautiful room with thoughtful touches and wonderful surroundings. So close to Cowes itself and Simonne provided us with the highlight of our stay - advising us to take the road less traveled from Nobbies to the penguins. Highly recommended!

Clean and comfortable accommodation. Simonne was the perfect host making our stay very enjoyable. Location is close to to restaurants and beach. No need to drive! A very pleasant weekend away.

Our hosts were extremely thoughtful and kind. Loved the renovated space with all of the charm of an old home. The proximity to the main street and beach was perfect. If I ever have the good fortune to return, I will simply book here. One and done. Thank you!!

Stayed here in Dec 2021 for my son's wedding on the island and was treated to the best hospitality by Simonne and her husband. Other family members occupied the other two rooms which were perfect for their needs and comfort. Rooms with modern bathrooms were immaculate. Bathrooms in the two front rooms are small but updated beautifully to suit the period of the home. Could do with more shelving for toiletries though. The suite at the rear has a spacious bedroom with a much larger bathroom. I stayed for three nights and was treated to light breakfasts plus a small bottle of bubbles and a yummy cheese platter. The only thing missing was a small coffee machine. All enjoyed on the covered verandah overlooking the leafy garden. Simonne was so helpful with her knowledge of the area leading up the the wedding, ie for flowers, hairdressers, celebrants. At the same time, the property was very private and peaceful. So close to the beach, restaurants and shops. Thank you so much for your great hospitality Simonne. I will definitely come back!

Simonne is a wonderful host , nothing is to hard for her . The rooms are cleaned and service everyday with all the food replenished in fridge. This is wonderful BnB to stay very close to the shops and the beach walking distance.

My partner and I recently stayed two nights at Genesta. Very happy with our stay. Room was clean, well furnished and bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast. Very cute cottage-like atmosphere. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. Most of all the hosts really went above and beyond in helping us make the most our time in Phillip Island. Cute dog too :) Way better than we expected for the price. We left wishing we'd booked a longer stay! Only potential issue I can see if there's little soundproofing between the two rooms but it wasn't a problem during our time there, just maybe look elsewhere if you plan to have a party?

One of the best stays on our 2 week stay in Australia. Lovely host, wonderful room, and super convenient for all the stops on Phillip Island. The continental breakfast was fresh and filling for us (yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, OJ). I would 100% recommend staying here.

A short walk from the bustling Cowes shopping strip, and only a minute walk to the beach and views of Westernport Bay, nestled in an enchanted, well-kept garden, notable the enourms, shady, Irish Strawberry tree, stands the historical Genista house.Quite, fresh, and enriched by verandahs and water features, it is the perfect place to relax and recharge for a few days.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at Genesta House for 3 nights in December. from the moment we stepped into the place we were treated extremely friendly. we immediately felt home. Simonne was very helpful in guiding us during our stay to make it a memorable one. We will surely go back there and will most definitely recommend the place.

A beautifully restored and maintained old property set in a beautiful garden. It is very conveniently located very close to the beach and town and restaurants and shops. The Fernery Room was very comfortable, tastefully decorated in a style, sympathetic to the age of the property but with modern conveniences. The bed was extremely comfortable with lovely linen. We appreciated the little extra touches, such as fruit and port. Breakfast provisions are provided for dining in room.
