Rockhampton Museum of Art
The recently opened Rockhampton Art Gallery was a pleasant surprise. The current exhibitions are free, diverse and high quality examples of a range of Australian local, indigenous and internationally reknown artists. The layout is spacious and colourful with informative labelling. They have educational spaces, the Hummingbird Cafe, a small retail shop with a good range of quality pieces and good disability access throughout. We spent two hours looking around the gallery and would highly recommend a visit.

Best part was the gift shop with local artist products! Incredible earrings and ceramics and pin badges. Friendly Swedish lady at the desk was lovely. Only few galleries as maintenance going on but would still recommend having a look

This gallery was a total surprise find on a cycle around Rocky. Amazing building and space. I loved the exhibition that was on. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Modern design and airy spaces for display and exhibitions. Very friendly smiling staff. Surprised with the latest display. Boutique cafe with very tasty snacks and drinks.

Such an amazing peice of art, literally! Real showcase of Australian Arts, with kid friendly zones to get creative. Definitely a must do in Rockhampton!

A seriously impressive gallery. The range of works on display is wonderful, the architecture of the building impressive and overall experience excellent. Loved the retail store, great collection of local artists creations to take home. The gallery cafe looked pretty good too.

Absolute waste of taxpayer dollars. Bathrooms are way too overdone & not sensory sensitive (my child refused to go & cried with the overstimulation). Thankfully free entry coz no way I’d pay to go the artwork wasn’t that great. Really disappointed not to see anything much that pays homeage to our Durumbal people.
