Oakhurst Cottage FarmStay
Oakhurst Cottage is the ideal place to stay if you need to rest & restore yourself. The cottage is well appointed with all you need for a comfortable stay. The gardens are tranquil & pretty, & the hosts Robyn & Steve provide the perfect mix of interaction & company while maintaining privacy for their guests. They are happy for you to join in on farm life or just wander about the property at your leisure. We stayed for a week at Oakhurst & did just this. Hubby loved being a farmhand for a day while i walked the paddocks with our dog who just loved pretending she was a sheepdog. Reception is patchy at the cottage but this gave us the perfect chance to disengage, but i you can't do without your daily dose of the socials it's just a short walk up the nearest hill for full reception. We happily recommend Oakhurst to couples or families & look forward to returning in the future.

A most delightfully renovated and equipped cottage that served as the original homestead. Although catering for four or six guests, there is an abundance of crockery, etc.Steve and Robyn are typical country folk who, as a young couple, worked and saved hard to realise their dream of owning their own property. Now they are also amiable and genial hosts to guests who are privileged to share their nirvana.The farm is a fully operational sheep and cattle enterprise, including a Border Leicester stud. They also breed dogs, mainly CavoodlesChildren will gain a lifetime memory of feeding orphaned farm animals, raising and feeding chickens and collecting farm fresh eggs.NOT TO BE MISSED.Children can enjoy feeding orphaned young farm animals

We could not recommended Oakhurst highly enough!We have stayed twice in 2 years and the kids have asked why we had to leave, it will definitely be a regular stay for us now.The hosts Robyn and Steve are fantastic and you cannot find more genuine people anywhere. They are happy to show you around the farm as well as answer any questions you might have.The cottage is well loved and looked after, it has been done up nicely so it doesn't lose that farm home feel but you don't feel like you are missing any creature comforts.If you are looking to escape reality and enjoy the peace and quiet this is the stay for you!

Absolutely gorgeous cottage in beautiful surrounds!We won’t forget our 1 night stay at Oakhurst. It is the most delightfully appointed and attractive cottage you can imagine with imaginative and artistically chosen furnishings and appointments; always some lovely detail to notice with much thought and care taken to create a cosy, attractive and inviting character in every space, retaining the historic character yet offering all modern comforts. Sitting on one of the 3 verandahs is perfect relaxation as you watch the sublime views which are hard to peel your eyes from if you’re thinking of reading on the comfortable outdoor lounges :) The garden is delightful and has much to explore among the historic trees and shrubs. Everything is kept in immaculate condition and cleanliness and is an absolute testimony to the vision and hard work of the owners in creating such a place and continuing with what must be considerable maintenance and upkeep. We are in awe and very thankful. We also loved pottering about in the environs and a walk up to see more countryside and, yes, kangaroos! The sheep were a delight too as well as the hens and their chickens. We’ve just been saying what a perfect retirement home the cottage would be so watch out!!We feel extremely blessed to have stayed here and experienced so much of God’s creation at our doorstep. Only wish we could have stayed a month as the renewal and refreshment that just 1 day gave was so beneficial.Thank you so muchCathy and Greg

I came home yesterday after a stay of two nights. In all honesty I did not want to leave.Steve and Robyn have done an amazing job in restoring the original homestead.They have created a welcoming home for their guests, not only in the beautifully appointed 1890s building, but they themselves are very warm, down to earth people.Oakhurst is a working farm, and the delight of my two mornings there was to walk out of the house with a hot cup of tea and go 'talk' to the cows, chooks, and sheep, as well as Robyn and Steve's dogs.I would love to come visit again.Ps. The only reason I have left 5 stars in the rating is because the feedback doesn't allow me to put in 10 of them.

If you like a farmstay this is the place. Clean comfortable accomodation with extremely friendly owners. Do as much as you like or as little as you like. Scenic walks around the property, watch for wildlife or help feed the farm animals and collect a few eggs. A fantastic place to relax and get away from city life. For us having been there twice now it is like coming home. And yes we plan to go back again and again so look out Steve and Robyn (owners).

We had the best family holiday, the host's are so lovely and the property is absolutely beautiful, we even got to bottle feed a little lamb that stayed in the yard, fully fenced so great with our toddlers, highly recommend and will be staying again

Oakhurst is a great getaway,we have been there twice now and loved it both times . Farmstay or even couples retreat it's quite,peaceful and beautiful and your are made to feel welcome by the owner's who do not invade your privacy, the bonus it's pet friendly is perfect for those have fur babies they want to take.
