Overcrowded dusty area. Do yourself a favour and book into Muddy Duck across the river instead. But need to book ahead since it is so new and popular

Would not stay here as all dirt and dust. Too many free campers. Not for us

Great place to stay for a day or two, $5 per night. Clean amenities with lots of undercover space for whatever you need to do. People catch fish in the river or at least try to catch something. I’m not sure if I’d like to be here if it’s wet, it looks like it might be pretty muddy. Dump point is less than 5km away and fresh water is available on site.

This is the very popular Longreach (paid) camping ground for travellers.Pay fees at info centre in town. $5 per site per night, or $27 for 7 nights. As a full-time solo traveller, this place was brilliant for location close to town, comfort of space to park, and camping beside the Thomson River is so picturesque. Flushing toilets are available, and some areas have access to potable water taps.Great stop for a week to explore Longreach.

Only a $5 per night donation however, many, many caravans/RVs/ people stay every night. That many vehicles constantly driving over the dirt grinds it into a fine dust which billows about with a light breeze or when people drive around the park too fast (which most everyone does) and gets into everything. Two roosters start up around 4.30am and are continuous until about 6.30am.One night is enough, we won't be back.

Area suitable for large rigs. Would have been 30 to 40 caravans and some camper vans whilst we stay there. Water available and toilet block also in park. Dog friendly. Fishing and yabbying in Thomson River.
