I can't praise Trevor enough for the assistance he gave me when passing through Townsville recently. Even though he was as busy as other mechanics, he agreed to take the job on (I had phoned about eight other mechanics before being led to Marshall's and none would help me). His young assistant, Connor, was also brilliant, and Stephen also lent a hand. Thank you guys, I will always be grateful to you.

Just broke down on the way to the cape. Late Saturday and he stayed open to help us out. Can't believe what Trevor did for us. Top bloke that more than got out of his way to help a traveller passing through. Can more than recommend Marshalls Diesel service to anyone. Thanks big time Trevor.!

We recently had a problem with our Sprinter van. After approaching a number of mechanics in Townsville, all of whom were too busy to help, one suggested Trevor at Marshalls. 0 stars…Avoid this business vehicle and safety oJune 2022 by Trevor and his apprentices. The filthy state of the workshop should have been a warning.* Faulty repairs carried out on the tensioner pulley and missing parts when installed* Intercooler and engine casing damaged during repair* Washer missing when sump plug put back in place after service.* Not all repairs and parts listed on his invoice were carried out in a proper and correct manner ie..rear rotors not replaced but I was charged for.An important spacer was left out when the replacing the tensioner pulley pin, not sure how this was missed as you CAN NOT correctly tighten the pin without the spacer in place?? This caused the pin to wear, come loose and put the pulley and belt of balance. I have been informed by my new reputable mechanic, that corners were cut when doing this particular job as the front end should have been removed to insert pulley pin correctly. Hence the failure. I was put off the road as soon as this fault was discovered and van had to be towed to reputable mechanic in Brisbane as I was on the Sunsgine a coast. When I contacted Trevor he was very short and said he had no memory of the repair, I had also previously messaged him so he knew! He then said bring the van to his workshop in Townsville and it would be a quick half hour fix, how when I have been told not to drive the vehicle as if the pin comes out any further it would go through the timing case and cause a catastrophic failure in my engine. He offered no solution to this and ignored my question. I asked that he contact my new mechanic to discuss what they had done, he did not do this but did post the seal and washer for repair but I had to pay for the repairs to be done for a second time. Trevor offered 1 hour labour refund (laughable) but as expected has failed to follow through with that as well! He also continuously ignored emails and failed to provide a copy of his works carried out. I asked for this repeatedly. Steer clear, very dodgy business.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I have a Mercedes Sprinter Motorhome that had to be tow trucked to Trevor’s workshop because it failed to start. Trevor quickly diagnosed that the problem was with the fuel line and had me up and running the same day. He also fixed a water tank problem with the motorhome for me without fuss. For all the work done I believe his fees were very fair and reasonable and I have no hesitation in recommending him. Please note: I am not a family member or friend and was referred to Trevor by another business who were unable to fix my non starting issue. I did read the negative reviews that are on this site before I saw Trevor and would advise there are always two sides to a story. Unfortunately there are selfish, unreasonable and ignorant people out there who have no idea how a business works. Their negative comments reflect this and sadly (if heeded), they can damage good tradesmen’s reputation. I hope I have put the lie to them for potential customers. Trevor, keep up the good work, thanks again.

We had a chuffing sound and smoke coming out of the oil cap when open, quickly diagnosed by Trevor as a probable injectors’ washers leak. And he was right, got it fixed in 3 hours.Thank you Trevor.

I have a 1982 Mercedes Benz 300D. At 36 years of age the car is in great condition. I do all the minor servicing myself and I have had Trevor at Marshalls do the more major repairs. At 540 K on the clock things can begin to fail and so far injectors have been serviced, alternator reconditioned and fuel lines all replaced due to wear and tear. I took the car to at least 5 mechanics who weren't interested in working on it before Marshalls and I am confident of the work done there.
