Joanna is the best! I was referred to Sew Special by a Sydney bridal salon and Joanna did not disappoint. I was so nervous to hand my wedding dress over to someone but Joanna put so much care and detail into every stitch to make my dress sit exactly as it should. To top it all off, Joanna is such a joy to be around and makes you feel like family. No problem was too big and she did it with a smile on her face. I will be going to Sew Special for all of my future alterations without a doubt!

Sew special helped to alter a brides maid dress for me which was way too big for me!! The whole dress needed adjusting and it turned out perfectly. They did majority of the alternations then left some work for a week before the wedding as I’m pregnant and growing and had to have the dress altered accordingly. It’s not a cheap service but it is top quality and well worth it for a special occasion where you want to look and feel your best. I went from being so disappointed the dress didn’t fit to feeling amazing in it. Thanks ladies!

I had an excellent experience here for my wedding dress alterations. We were planning to get married in June 2020 and the pandemic struck, so we thought we wouldn't be able to get married. Then we decided we didn't want to wait any longer! So I was worried, my dress was 2 sizes too big and the original place I bought it was closed and not responding. I found Sew Special online and called, Theresa was so kind and saw me that week. I was so grateful that she would squeeze me in.She went above and beyond for me, made my dress look spectacular and I could not have been happier! They even helped me with tips on how to walk in my dress which were invaluable to me on the day. I cannot thank her and Joanna enough and would recommend Sew Special to anyone looking for high quality and excellent service.

Joanna was beyond amazing!! She helped me with my gown (10 layers) and my cheongsam for my wedding. She was extremely experienced and gave me lots of tips for my big day. Highly recommend her and her team.

Top class sewers. They know what they're doing, they listen and they give you the right recommendations. I got my designer wedding dress altered there and I would not have gone anywhere else. Yes it's expensive, but it's justified, the staff is skilled with more than 30 years experience sewing complicated outfits. You go there for expensive clothing alterations. Plus, the team is super friendly ^^

I felt incredible in my wedding dress and it was not an easy one to alter because of the silk-wool pleating, but you are such an expert, an actual magician, at what you do!My bridemaids looked incredible in their perfectly tailored suits. All my wedding outfits were perfect because of your attention to detail and skill.Special thanks to Teresa for filling in for a last minute wedding dress alteration when Joana was away. One of the things I loved the most was that you never rushed us, and allocated us ample time to make sure the fitting was smooth and what you needed. I found Sew Special as they came up on my “Top Rated” on google. They certainly lived up to it! After a personal fitting on Saturday with a last minute alteration for an abroad wedding in Italy, the team were more than accommodating with the short time frame. Although quoted Tuesday for the pick up day, I was called on Monday to tell me it was finished and could I come in as she wanted to have time to see me in the dress and alter if needed before my holiday. Absolute 10/10 service, would highly recommend. Thank you team for getting everything sorted so quickly and making it overall such a fabulous experience.

While the staff here are lovely and experienced, unfortunately a very bad experience. I spent over $1100 to have a designer wedding gown fit (just the alterations cost) and on the week of my wedding they could not fit me back in for a last fitting and as a result it did not fit properly. It was wrinkled across the bodice, and for $1100 I think it should have fit me like a glove. Such a disappointing experience for such a special day.* Response - Yes it's the correct store I did try and contact you and heard nothing back. Please do better.

Sew Special is the recommended tailor of Vera Wang Sydney and I wouldn't have trusted my wedding dress with anyone else. I can't thank Joanna enough for making the alterations process so special. My bridal fittings were extra special because of the kindness Joanna showed me. My dress fit like a glove and I can also thank Joanna for teaching me how to walk properly down the aisle in my dress! Thank you for everything to the amazing team at Sew Special x
