Matt Hanlon has been managing a mixed use property (retail and residential) for me for over 4 years now and has always done an exceptional job.I am particularly impressed with the manner in which he deals with the tenants who seem to trust and respect his management. We were tenants for 3.5 years and we have dealt with both matt and sabine. Several issues as described below:- matt was very rude to us. Always on his phone, and always very short replies, both in person and via email. I remember one time for an inspection he did not look up from his phone after I invited him inside. He seemed to be actively working against us, seemed very uninterested in us and only out to take care of the landlords. After too many instances of unprofessionalism and slow repairs, we complained to Wayne and he was very helpful - he assigned Sabine to be our agent. While Sabine was better than Matt, we heard that Matt was still the landlords agent and sabine was just liaising with us. While we understood that Matt may have had a relationship with the landlords, it didn't help us much as Matt was still involved in the process.- Sabine was clearly just the middleman between Matt and us and seemed like she didn't care at all. She would always call instead of email even after many promptings of having a written trail of conversations- The place was very dirty when we moved in, and several urgent repairs needed. A giant compost full of rotten food was in the yard, we asked for this to be removed repeatedly only to be told they were refusing to pay for removal. This should have been realised by Matt in the outgoing inspection of the last tenants and organised either by the old tenants or the landlords, but it was left to us- never updated the new tenants in our house properly - took a while for it to be updated on their records and never updated on the bond details- pushed us out with a 90 day no grounds notice, claiming they wanted to renovate. The day after we were forced out we saw the listing go up on realestate and domain for 100 dollars more, claiming new paint and new carpet, both of which I know is not true- sabine/matt never filled out the realestate previous rental section even through multiple promptings, causing stress that I could be homeless after the no grounds evictionWhile I understand some of these concerns may have been the fault of the landlords, we have not had a good experience by any means with anyone from Marriott Lane (except maybe Wayne). I would recommend to steer clear of at least Matthew Hanlon and Sabine.
