We had dinner at this nostalgic establishment on Grand Final night. They were so busy and, as everywhere, a little short staffed but they made us feel very welcome. As happens at times our order got lost in the kitchen so we were pretty hungry by the time the food arrived….but it was worth waiting for and the lovely hostess generously made up ten fold by providing wine and beer on the house. Thank you. Your hospitality was fabulous.

We had a couple of drinks here and decided to have dinner as nothing in town was really appealing. Next trip we will drive straight through food average service average and the prices are ridiculous for a pub meal. My partner took her snitty back to our accomodation for the cat!!! Toilets filthy and just a dirty grubby feeling never again.

Fantastic location, but very basic. No iron, no hair dryer, shabby paint work. Carpet can't be too clean as walking around in my socks clearly reflected this. Otherwise, reasonably clean and very convenient location.

We recently had dinner with you. I had the Angus beef burger which was so oily I couldn't eat it and it was falling apart. The Pattie had a strange taste and my meal was only just warm. The wait service was good, the place however needs a good clean. My seat was very wobbly.

The oldest hotel in Vic didn't let us down enormous servings and the most excellent people watching opportunities. We over heard one table contemplate whether Rump was beef.At another table a beleaguered older gentleman was part of the following conversation.HerWhy don't you get something and I will just have a little bit of it.HimOKAlittle while laterHerWhy don't you get...Chicken wingsHimYipHerGarlic breadHimYipHerand BruschettaHimYipAs he stared longingly at the steaks on the menu...And can I have a rose or something...Yip.She didn't leave her chair as he catered to her every whim.

Older pub with a not bad feel inside.. meal was definitely good and seemed popular with how many people went there to eat.. room was comfortable although was easy to hear noise from other rooms and traffic from road . Car park area definitely restrictive if all rooms full.

Basic, clean, convenient, comfortable. 1-star energy rating on TINY bar fridge so not very environmentally aware. TV had vertical line through screen which cleared up after 10 mins or so. No microwave or hairdryer. Cold bathroom with open window we could not close.Friendly staff. Atmospheric pub with good meals. All in all a bit below average in our experience.

Walked in for dinner with no reservation, staff advised they had a number of walk-ins and that dinner would require a wait. We were not in a hurry, so happy to wait. The food was worth the wait! Good, honest pub food! Great menu choices, specials board choices also made for a tough decision on what to have!We settled on Fish and Chips for me - beautifully cooked Barramundi with a thin and crispy batter! ... and a 300g Scotch Fillet cooked rare ... with Garlic Butter for hubby! Local beef that was juicy and tasty!Would not hesitate in recommending The Stump!Staff were fabulous too!
