Black Perry lookout

Great lookout and spot to stretch the legs.

This is a great lookout on the side of the highway. There is a pull in area to park. This lookout would be best visited at dawn or after lunch. After the sun rises above the horizon till midday the suns glare will be too strong to admire the view of the mountains.

easy pull in bay, lots of room we had 3 cars with caravans and parking was no problem. all signs are well kept. nice look out and a sign saying what to do in the area

Stop and listen waterfall below 1000 MTR from the platform. Wait and think of favours of Almighty the creator of all things.Plenty of parking, Next to highway, enter easily either from and to Tumut.

From Gundagai drove to Tumut, on Hume Hwy and into the Snowy Mountains Hwy, the Town Tumut is referred to as 'gateway to the Snowy ', Tumut is approximately 410 kilometres (250mi) south-west of Sydney and 525 kilometres (330mi) north-east of Melbourne.From Tumut to Cooma is about 2 and half hours away.Our first stop is Black Perry Lookout.The Lookout looks so sad.In summer of 2019-2020 there was the biggest bushfire in Kosciuszko National Park destroyed acres of natural bushland, over one year later slowly the bushland and the trees come back to life.There is no farmers on the Kosciuszko National Park.We are on the top of Kosciuszko National Park it is the first month of Autumn there is no snow on the road, so that you have not but the snow chain on your wheels.There is a yellow line on the road on the side are red markers, so that you can see the road in the snow.I drove on the Snowy Mountains Hwy, on and off for years in the past.On the road there is a sign say look out for wild animals, our lucky day as we drive past the sign of a horse say 23 kilometres look out for them.They are here today, wild Brumbies, to see them now is so wonderful, all does years I drive on the road never seen the Brumbies until now.If you see the Horses on the side of the road, slow down, you may not see them again. The Horses are called Brumbies.

Amazing lookout. Very popular lookout. We came here in the xmas holidays. Got some lovely photos. The photos do not do the place justice. Very picturesque spot. You have to see for yourself. Bench seat available at location. Lots of car spaces.

Great lookout to see the mountains from a high point. Nice and sturdy platform with direct access from carpark. Perfect for a quick stop on the windy snowy mountains road. Amazing to see nature is recovering from a sever bushfire last year. Informative information board with lots of details for the interested tourist.
