Sunlover Reef Cruises

This is a really enjoyable reef tour. Comfortable 1 hour boat ride to their pontoon at the reef. The coral around the pontoon is beautiful and there is so much sea life. We saw thousands of fish, turtles and got to pat a friendly Māori Wrasse. Lunch was decent and the kids loved the waterslide. All in all a great day, highly recommend.

We did the full day Moore reef cruise and it was a fantastic experience. Plenty of fishes and coral reefs to see around in the Moore reef region including a huge sea turtle. The best part of the Moore reef plantoon is the ocean water slide which is not found on other reef tours. The staff were really helpful and caring throughout the day however lunch was pretty OK and nothing great.

Me and 11 friends utilised their service. We had fun . Morgan and Alana were very professional and nice. Sea walk was a wonderful experience for me. There was some clash between the lunch and the water activities" . This needs improvement. Overall a pleasant experience."

It was a rough trip out but the staff looked after us. The pontoon was great and there were lots of different options. Really something for everyone. It was well organised and you can see the fish and coral without even getting in the water.

This cruise was the experience of a lifetime and a definite must if you’re visiting the Cairns area. Staff were very friendly and helpful, understanding that not everyone is used to the constant rocking motion of a boat and are quick to help if you end up getting seasick. Buffet was amazing, all in all great experience!

We had such an awesome time on this tour to Moore Reef. My son and I did the introductory SCUBA dive and it was fabulous. We felt so safe and cared for the entire time and the underwater sea life we were shown were extraordinary- especially the turtles that we got so close to. Thanks so much for the experience Joseph- you were fantastic. My husband, a non swimmer, did the helmet walk and loved it so much. We also purchased the underwater photos that were taken- such great quality photos and so many which will help us remember the awesome experience. The only downside to the day was the safety briefing session. They commenced the session just as the seas became very choppy and it was held in the lower level of the boat that, at the time, had no air conditioning going. Hot, stuffy area with lots of people was a recipe for disaster. Vomiting going on everywhere but we were told if we left the area before the end of the session, we wouldn’t be able to dive. So we stayed but I got nothing out of the session because it’s too hard to listen and pay attention when your head is in a bag and vomiting constantly!!! Luckily we have dived before so we knew the rules/ safety guides. I suggest that they try and do this session earlier in the crossing before the waters get too choppy and to put aircon on so it’s not too hot for the large groups of people. Other than that, it would have been the perfect day all round!!!

Overall a very fun experience with many activities available to pick from. We didn’t book any of the snorkelling tours or scuba diving but it’s not necessary since you’ll be able to see the coral and fish up close by snorkelling off the pontoon yourself. The staff were amazing and friendly, however the pontoon could be expanded to accommodate all the passengers on board the cruise boat since it got a bit crowded when everyone was offloaded onto the pontoon. The buffet lunch was also decent, nothing amazing but somewhat fulfilling. The main highlight was definitely the snorkelling experience, it was very easy and fun to snorkel off the pontoon and you could see all the coral and fish up close, under the watch of lifeguards. Would definitely recommend booking with Sunlover Reef Cruises.

We did the Great Barrier Reef Pontoon Adventure. Overall experience is very expensive but worth it as its once in a life time experience.There were some hi’s and low’s.Hi’s:- very easy online booking process- received detailed email after booking with the requirements and what to expect etc- had to call them to amend pick up location and call was answered straight away and the phone staff was very helpful- tickets included cruise, snorkelling, snorkelling equipment, lunch, glass boat, semi submarine- need to pay extra for guided snorkelling tour, scuba diving, sea walk, helicopter ride etc etc etc lot if upgrade options- entire crew is very well coordinated and very informative and friendly- great welcome and farewell. All staff including the captain lined up to say goodbye- did the sea walk and it was a wonderful experience. The staff puts a lot of efforts and detail into each activity- got locker facilities, toilets, bar, ice cream counter, light snacks onboardLow’s- departed around 10.15am instead of 9.30am due to some mechanical fault but didn’t make up lost time- the water activities overlap with lunch, the schedule needs a bit of adjustment- no clarity and no mention that the photos would be taken and we need to pay for the photos. The photos were extremely expensive. Paid $125 to get them air dropped- you should give atleast 1 free printed photo for memory and as a token- better to take own go pro or hire them for $100. Still cheaper than paying for the photos.

What an experience! The tour was incredibly well-organized. Hats off and big hugs to all the crew members. They knew exactly what they had to do and proactively helped each member onboard. While we were reaching the pontoon, a few of us had sea sickness, but the crew managed it very well. I would strongly recommend taking a tablet 30 minutes before you board.There was a lot to do upon arrival at the pontoon. We had a helmet sea walk, which was very well managed, and the instructions were crisp and clear.The water slide was the only one, but it was so much fun that we did it again and again. My 7-and-a-half-year-old daughter really enjoyed it.The guided snorkeling was a must-do, especially for those who don't know how to swim. Ted, our guide, was an amazing guy. He helped us and took great care of us throughout the activity.Buffet lunch was decent, with a few options for vegetarians and vegans.The vessel and bathroom were clean and tidy.The photographer on board made the trip even more memorable. He had excellent skills, and on our way back, we were amazed to see our photos. These memories will last a lifetime.Thank you so much to entire crew for giving us such a wonderful experience. It will be etched in our memories forever.
