Old mate Jackson refused to take a stray dog that we found on the Mackay Bucasia Rd running in front of cars and terrified cause he wasn't microchipped". Said to "just let him roam..." Are you hoping to make money when he gets seriously injured when he gets hit by a car? Or will you also refuse treatment cause he ain't microchipped? Thanks for NOT caring."

All I can say is, we just moved up Mackay and didn’t have a vet yet. We lost our first dog to improper treatment from a Sunshine Coast vet. As we seeked a second opinion from another vet who couldn’t believe some blood tests weren’t done in the first place.So rushing to a vet again really brought back some bad memories and being scared of improper treatment and losing our girl who got sick pretty fast.We arrived at 6:15pm and the hospital closed at 6:30pm. Usually when you’re just about to close staff get antsy and just want to get home.However the young male vet had an excellent bedside manner and very quickly eased us with a possible diagnosis. There was no rushing to get us out and really calmed us down. He took his time to answer all our questions and would give us a call later that night with answers from the blood tests which turned out to be pancreatitis. Again staying back to care for our girl when it was way past closing time.We left satisfied and relived knowing she would be in excellent care after the whole team, really cared and showed empathy to our ordeal. Little did they know the history with us and vets.Thank you again guys! We really appreciate everything and even letting us take our girl home early, even though you suggested otherwise. Moment she was home. She was eating. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

New to Mackay. Didn't feel completely comfortable in vets presence. Given an estimate for my dog, I ended up paying a lot more! Country vets are so much nicer!

Best vets in town no competition whatsoever in knowledge and experience

We had to put our cat to sleep when we came for an appointment. All the staff were just beautiful and very caring. They gave us a lovely calico bag with a flower on it so we could take him home. Most thankful. We have been coming to this vet for 14 years.
